    Great deal!

PSA: One claim per household includes the previous Canon PTZ camera deal claims.

    • I wonder if you can just use a different address and bank details to circumnavigate this

  • +12

Combine with 10% off code to pay $98.10, becoming $48.10 after cashback

Edit: forgot to include code - 92WICKEDWED10

  • +2

So I paid $98.10 for the printer with the code(thanks @HastaBanana)
I also used my birthday voucher perks to get the square format prints for $16! (Seperate order)

    Great deal!

    • same here! have no use but looks like a great gift

      • Great find op. Also got $10 Commbank rewards

        • Where do you find that?

      • +9

Not really. Looks like a great gift but its not. Who would fork out $26 for 20 prints? The recipient would most likely not end up using it and sit there collecting dust unless you gift them extra prints as well.

        • +2

Yep! The sad reality is just like you said.

        • yep, next n years you can just keep gifting paper to the same person - takes the stress out of finding a gift :D

  • Great price, but I think you can only print one size square shape photo, not the normal 16 x 9 or 16 x 10 photos

    • +4

Correct. If you are after postcard size photos, take a look at that Canon CP1300.

    • Normal photos are 3 x 2 ratio. This is what the Selphy CP1300 prints.

  • +10

Like any printer, consumables are ink cartridges and photo paper (designed specifically for this printer by the looks of it?)

    The costs pile up

    • Yeah I was thinking exactly that the entry price point is low but the long term running cost is high like those printer inks/toners.

    • +2

Yea. 26$ for 20 photos, or you can you buy the ink + paper set (108 sheets) for 44$.

I was tempted to get the printer but the consumables kills it.

      • +1

Isn't that 108 sheet set for a higher model? The 20 paper set includes ink

        • +2

Yep the kp-108 and rp-108 kits are for the CP1300 and similar. The image quality is great on the cp1300

  • Bought these for $135 with 20 extra prints from OW. They’re pretty good and at this price a lot of fun.

  • +1

    Print Resolution: 287 x 287 dpi

So it's about $1.30 per print? wowee

    • It's certainly not for everyone but it is cheaper than it's Instax counterpart.

      • I would argue the instax one is cheaper considering the paper of the Insta goes on sale more often and the pictures it prints is more convenient too

  • Thanks OP ..great find

  • +8

Ok - downvote me but this is a dogshit deal. Even if printer is free, which it isn’t, it’s $1.30 a print.

Just go to a camera house and print this size for like 20 cents

    • Reading reviews the quality is nicer also its much more convenient. I hate printing at officeworks, takes forever

      • Not sure about the quality but the benefit is that the photo from this printer is also a sticker

  • +4

Just in time to print copies of all those valuable, completely not a waster of money, Trump NFTs.

  • Can someone recommend a similar photo printer that can print the normal sized photos? (preferably with cheaper paper refills)

    • Cp1300 canon

      • +1

The CP1300 tempted me as it’s currently available from $149 on Amazon and Big W @ eBay (latter can be further reduced to $129 if you have a soon-to-expire $20 voucher like I do). The RP-108 ink and 4x6” paper pack for it is $45 on Amazon, so that’s 42c per print—much better than the (smaller) ones on the QX10.

Of course, it depends how often you expect to really need/want to print photos these days, especially considering you can get higher quality prints for 15c from Officeworks or Big W Photo. On reflection, I (and another, most likely gift recipient) don’t need it… but close call.

  • Couldn't resist at that price (after cashback), just for the novelty (also have an Instax camera from years ago). I ordered to click and collect, so haven't got it yet, does it come with any photo paper in the box?

    • +1

Unboxing videos seem to show that it comes with about 3-5 sheets but yes, you will have to buy more.

  • +3

Are there any square prints in same format from some no name Chinese company that is compatible with this printer? That way we can avoid the $26 for 20 prints?

  • +1

Get the CP1300 selphy. Much better. Prints larger pictures. Both have great quality regardless

For what it is worth, I just last night, pulled the trigger on a Xiaomi ZINK instant printer, from Aliexpress, with 60 papers for about AU$130 posted for mid-January. I would have seriously considered this in its place!

    • 20 zink papers are $12 in JB Hi Fi. Combine that with $10 from perks welcome voucher and you get 20 for $2.

The trick is to find a good ZINK printer. From all the reviews I've seen, Canon Ivy / Zoemini / Inspic / mini photo printer is the best.

      • Oh damn. Well the main reason I bought it was to chuck together quick scrapbooks for my kids to enjoy/wreck (2&4yo) so quality comes fifth down the list… Cheers!

  • +4

Thanks OP. Just bought this as a xmas present for a teenage child I do volunteering with in the community. He's gonna be over the moon!

  • +1

the CP1300 has been superceded with CP1500 providing easier interface. Add the battery and its totally wireless.

  • Purchased this a few days ago from online JB, is anyone aware if the price protection policy applies to orders that aren't click and collect?

  • Is the photo size bigger and quality better than Instax ones?

  • +2

This thing is brilliant …obviously expensive on a per print basis but while bought it on the novelty value as a gift…really impressed with the print quality …Does not replace regular photo prints..not just more expensive or smaller in size.. the printing app is limiting.. but for me personally ..love the size and convenience.. Thanks again OP

  • Its not expired. Just the Coupon code is.

  • Anyone aware of a reasonable price for ink / prints?
Also this is still in stock at the listed price. Just can’t get the 10% off.

  • +1

My $50 claim has been approved by Canon. Submitted on the same day it was bought.

Finally got around to picking up my printer on Monday, and did the claim form that day. Received the confirmation today, pretty quick turn around.

It came with 3 sample photos/ink, and I'm happy with the quality and size. Seems the cheapest I can find the 20 packs for is $24/$22.80 delivered from digidirect ebay at the moment (with 5% off code).
