Aramex (Nee: Fastway Couriers) - What a Joke of a Delivery Company!

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Against my better judgement I've again bought from an online retailer who uses Aramex and again the delivery has turned into a dog's bollocks.

My parcel is delayed Aramex really? Wonder why? Answer: Due to widespread labour shortages (we are actively recruiting!)

Scrolling down the page it quickly looks like no one in their right mind wants to actually work for Aramex, still not the customers fault that this inept company can't do what they are paid to do.

My apologies, I'm posting this out of sheer frustration at how shit Aramex are.

Hope any online purchases you make aren't being conveyed to you by these inept morons.

Merry Xmas

I would recommend checking what couriers are used by the online retailer before purchasing from them. I only shop with retailers that ship with Aus post.

    • I chose standard post with one eBay seller and they shipped with Aramex instead. Took Aramex 1 month to deliver whereas it takes AusPost one week max where I live.

    • The greatest Irony is that the postman on our run brings it to the door when it says signature required, whereas Aramex has always used the letter box, its bigger than normal, even when the parcel says signature required. Given the letter box is, at least in the past, only useable by the postal system.

"Due to widespread labour shortages (we are actively recruiting!)"

Geez that's a lot of vacant positions. What's the issue? Do they only pay peanuts or work the drivers like slaves?

      It could be both.

  • Aramex have some good drivers, many who have invested a lot of money into the system, however Aramex Management step in try and take a bigger chunk of their earnings where possible. Then they launched the Blus Courier system (Think Uber delivery drivers/Aramex Flex) where drivers receive little training, which is a big slap in the face to drivers that have invested $10,000 to $90,000 in a run, van etc.
No wonder their drivers sometimes don't care less.
Where possible, I avoid Aramex and CP.
If a parcel goes missing with Aramex, it is a painful process for the sender to recover their money, and even then, the payout is minus GST, and usually takes @ 3 months.

    • They sell franchise like it is own your own business and freedom but it is really swapping for someone else to hold you by the short and curlies and control any equity you might have in your own business.

      • A number of drivers I have spoken to, say they 'promise the world at first', then once they have signed, start treating them like crap.
I know one driver threatened to walk out, and take his van with him, so Management negotiated a minimum payment agreement (I think he had a lucrative pickup with aToysRUs hub).

Same thing happens with so many franchises, if they start earning too much, management want a bigger contribution.

        • I had an interview once with a shopping centre owner (as in Westfield league) they told me that they have access to takings numbers from all their tenants and use that to work out how much they can raise the rents. Only exceptions were anchor tenants (Myer, Woolworths, Coles etc) that brings in the foot traffic.

Too much power to the corporations and nobody wants to be the nice guy in the middle.

          • @netjock: It also happens with GPT (Landlease), and most likely Stockland. Quite often the little guys out the front of Colesworth etc that combined, they equal what a single Colesworth store pays.

Aramex and again the delivery has turned into a dog's bollocks.

    So they're good?

    • Admittedly, I get squeamish when I see a delivery is coming via Aramex, however the last few deliveries arrived beyond my expectations.

One reason, so many people use Aramex and CP, is their insurance rates are cheaper than AusPost.

Sick and tired of them using Aramex I hoped on the live chat and asked specifically if they could send through Australia Post since this was a replacement for the first order from 02/Oct which they lost and they said there is nothing they can do as the courier is automatically allocated by the system. Don't think I will be renewing prime come March if they keep using this company.
