I got a new hdd to add to my synology DS213j.
I installed it but on restart it came up with caution and I couldnt add the drive.
Put the drive in desktop and tested with crystal disc it says caution reallocated sectors count 1944
Current pending sector count 136
Uncorrectable sector count 136.
I ran sea tools scan then repair but no change And it says uninitialised.
What other tests can I run?

Contact ED or neology. Should only need a screenshot of the SMART data showing the high counts, those reallocated and uncorrectable sector count are not good for a new drive.

Drive's busted, get a replacement.
Shouldn't have any of those counts coming up as a new drive. Just curious what some of the other numbers are. What numbers do you see next to Power On Count and Power on Hours?
Power on count 19 and hours 40. I left it on to try repair and defrag and been off and on a bit.
I guess you can't really say it's been used. Can you account for all those hours and power ons?

Yeah, I had a bit more of a read and it looks like some manufacturers do test the drive prior to shipping anyway so it doesn't necessarily have to be 0. I hope you can get it all sorted out with no fuss. I've thought about getting into the GB but have worried about warranty.
Just spoke to Neology and we are going to get a replacement. I just want to be able to show the problem but crystal disc isnt really enough.
Good to hear it's so easy to get it sorted. This is also a good example of why you should do some (lots of) testing before you shuck a drive.
