VOSS 800ml Water No Longer Available! ?

I use 800ml VOSS bottles in the fridge for cold water. Last night one fell to the floor and smashed. I searched but it's showing "out of stock" at Colesworths. Have they pulled the product?

Hm… Just saw it seems to be available at IGA. I think the local IGA has closed so I'd have to wait until I drive past one again. Does anyone know the cheapest it usually discounts to?

  • Just buy a box from Amazon

Can get glass water bottles at kmart too

    • Or Dollar King, but they're 1 Litre.

      • Thanks. I'll look up the nearest store. I thought about finding something made of metal instead, but I like seeing the level - how much is still in the bottle.

    • Thanks, that was going to be my next question, lol. (What's everyone using instead.)

I like the wide mouth and uniform shape of the Voss bottles. I have two fridge shelves placed as close together as they can go, and the Voss bottles fit well there. I wish I'd known Colesworths were going to drop the line. Soon after buying several I did notice they had gone from the shelves and wondered what I'd replace them with if I ever broke them. I just figured it was another item my local stores didn't stock but larger stores still did.

    • I guess these are the Kmart ones? https://www.kmart.com.au/product/1l-clip-top-bottle-42692713… Pity the mouth is so narrow. Do you have them? I used to have some like that when the seal was a rusty-brown colour, rubber I think, and they used to crack and leak. (I store the bottles lying down in between two fridge shelves to save room.) Cheap enough to try though I guess.

Or I could look like a wino forever: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/1l-brown-glass-bottle-42268… - just need the obligatory wine cork.

      Too small: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/650ml-pine-green-glass-drin…

Looks like these are way too thick: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/badge-glass-bottle-42967477…

Maybe these: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/sodastream-1l-carbonating-b… - not a fan of plastic, but don't like cleaning up broken glass either. I wonder if these are "safe" health-wise over time… microplastics or whatever.

      • Oh wait… the Sodastream ones state: "They can be used for up to 2 years." Seems they're "Mission Impossible" bottles that self-destruct, should you choose to accept your mission of buying them!?

  • Try Ebay

    • Yeah I saw that a little while ago while searching. It's sure going to get expensive replacing them. I'll have to check out what alternatives there are I guess.

  • Lol and I just recycled a bunch as it was sitting in my cupboard, never being used. Could have sold it as a collectors item

    • I thought the lids would have worn out long ago, started leaking, got cracked, etc. It's been a few years though, and as above, they're always lying on their side.
