Good 58 inch 4k Google TV for $535 with 3 year warranty
Apologies. This is my first post, just added the price.
you forgot the ozbargain traditional: *this is my first post, please be gentle *
Very good price. Interested. How is it compared to Hisense?
I feel both are similar. But I like TCL compared to Hisense
How is your experience with TCL? Never used one from TCL b4 hence asking. Thx
Apologies, I haven't used TCL. I have read a lot of reviews regarding both TCL and Hisense. Just wanted to share that some of the Hisense models don't have Bluetooth feature which is a big no for me
I have TCL P735 (2021 version). Response time is slow compared to Samsung but if you can live with a few seconds of lag, TCL is not bad. TCL has Chromecast, which is good function to have if you like to cast. Hisense you need to download app for casting.
I havent used TCL, but I would prefer this over Hisense as this has Google TV, while Hisense has its own proprietary OS, VIDAA. Both brands are middle of the road, mid-tier brands anyway.
Yes, both are mid-tier but this has google TV.
That is what I said lmao
@skysailz: Lol
I haven’t use TCL , but Hisense I have from 4 yrs. Going still pretty strong.. but at this price 58” TCL.. NOT BAD
model 55n6 ?
I own both brands. My Hisense is better but I've only owned low end model TCL while the Hisense one was top of the range at the time.
My experience with TCL is the bootup time can be slow and the operating system lags a bit but the TV itself is great, the features are great for the price and my overall experience is really good. Very good chance newer models (even lower end) have faster boot up times and a more responsive OS.
Actually my Hisense (Android TV) takes quiet a bit to boot also. Possibly all Android TVs will. It's far more responsive in the OS though.
Doesn't seem like a popular model
The usual 65" C635 QLED has been under $600 delivered from Costco last month
EDIT: Was a price error from Costco
Yeah, it was a price error. Difficult to get C635 for this price.
I know this is kind of a stupid question as it's impossible to tell what's going to happen but if I'm after a TV - not in a hurry, need it before January - should I get this or wait for Boxing Day. I don't know if this deal is a steal or just a good deal.
I don't think it's a steal deal. It's a good deal and would suggest you wait for the boxing day deal if you don't need it immediately!
Boxing day deals are notorious for being dud sales. So I guess this is the game, will it be cheaper after xmas??
I think it will be the same price for these TVs!
RRP is only $699, this isn't a rare deal. Not missing out if you wait, another deal will come around
How does the picture quality compare to the QLED C635 series ?
This is what I found while searching for review. The P - models have normal LED backlight and the C635 is QLED which confirms that C365 is far superior compared to P635 in picture quality.
Hi guys!!! Running a 6 year old Hisense 55inch…just managed to grab an xbox series x for Christmas.
The expensive OLEDs are out of my budget!! Can anyone suggest a good 55inch tvunder $1000 that will work great with the next gen gaming consoles??
All China brands is rubbish
Most electronics are made in China, So how many rubbish you are using now?
No offense, but he is talking about the brand, not the products
Yes, just look at the cars they make (MG for example).
@Mr Bob Dobalina: Those are made to be as cheap as possible.
China also make BMW, Volvo, Tesla.
This is a ~ $600 TV, compare it with non China brand TVs in that price range. It wouldn't be fair or accurate to compare it with a $1500 Sony or LG
FWIW, I have tried TCLs 2022 model TVs with google TV, they are very responsive and the picture quality is fine for the price.
People complaining about bad experience really need to specify which model they have, TCL has been selling TVs in Australia for many years
Have 3 TCL tv's of which 1 'smart' and 2 'androidtv'.. They work OK and look/sound OK for what you pay. But on all 3 (different models) the buttons/menu is extremely slow/laggy. 1 androidtv takes a good 60-90 seconds to even start up. Would not buy again unless they've changed..
Same problem with mine. Ended up buying a Chromecast with Google TV for it but it's annoying having two remotes.
For a TV in another room I bought a used LG 55" 1080p commercial TV for $150 off Facebook Marketplace, and it's so great that it just works with the Chromecast with no bullshit. The picture is great too, there's no use for 4K when most content isn't even there yet. The only issue is that it only has one HDMI port.
Bought a "TCL 50C715 50" 4K Ultra HD QLED Android TV" Back in dec 2020 from JB.
Picture was so so. Google tv was laggy as hell.
Lasted till April the following year when a part of the screen essentially melted.
Took a bit of work with the ombudsmen & JB and eventually got my money back in form of voucher.
Do with this info what you will…
Anything beyond 400ms will seem laggy and frustrating.

Interested, I would only use for sports and movies, how are the blacks? full array lighting?
I have TCL. It works OK however a couple of negatives.
-washed out black colour and bit of bleed through on the sides.
-turns on randomly in the middle of the night sometimes
-sometimes makes a white flash in the middle of the night or the sounds starts playing.
Works ok for a cheap tv however if youre after your main unit id recommend a better one
Had all these experiences with all Android t.v.s now, Sony, TCL, I have Hitachi currently which is re-branded osko(kmart) and it does the same things, so don't sweat it, we got a bargain!!!
Bought this a few weeks ago, really happy with it, does everything as expected. Happy with the picture quality for movies and sport in an extra bright bedroom. Really responsive software too.
slow to boot?
Not at all. I have been using fetch for two years and I'd say comparable
Tcl really lag behind in software development, LG , Samsung , Sony are light years ahead .
Have both.(2 TCL and one Hisense). TCL audio lag is abysmal. Remote on 43inch TCL useless. 75 inch Hisense entry model 2022 great picture FTA tv out of the box. TCL laggy and motherboard failed after 3 months minimal use. Warranty repair slowish and repetitive communication.
If you are on a budget or don't watch TV much or don't care/know tech lingo/specs etc or just have a*hole kids at times who don't look after stuff or you just don't give a crap and want a bigger telly - this is easy to use, set up and connects to the nintendo switch or ps4 easily. Remote is definitely a bit laggy as others have mentioned. It's no LG OLED but it does the job plus lots more.
58" is a bit of an oddball size. 65" too big but 55" just rots your socks? TCL has you sorted with a 58"!
How would it go as a cheapie for a ps5? My tv my parents gave me for free that ive been too cheap to upgrade from as started dying so im looking for something a bit more 2020ish (my old tv was a 50 inch 1080p lg so anythings up)
Bought 1 through price match at good Guys, Blacktown. Thank you.
slow to start up? what if i connect a google tv chrome to the hdmi, will it still slow to boot?
Yes because the TV can't bypass Android.
Everyone saying this is a low spec TV…but it supports
Dolby Vision
100mhz
HDMI 2.1
And uses 50% less power than anything else on the market.
Seems one of the better spec TVs?
100hz clear motion rate means nothing really, it's not 100hz refresh rate.
As for 50% less power, that just means you can expect a TV that has very poor max brightness compared to other similar TV's.
" it's not 100hz refresh rate"
Really? Then that needs a false advertising fine then. What else is 100 times a second then if it isn't the refresh rate?
As for poor max brightness, I don't think that can be the case if it gets Dolby Vision endorsement? Dolby Vision contrast range is normally super bright to decent dark.
I checked today at JB for this model n Hisense 55a7hau. People may differe to my view, but I found Hisense's picture quality a lot vibrant, bright n immersive compared to this model. No offence against this post though. I + to the deal already.
For some reason TCL tvs were dimmer than others in the shop, they're at max brightness.
I can answer this one.
Ask a salesman for the most efficient TVs. They always say TCL. This is because TCL have their backlight set lower by default, therefore they use less energy for the energy sticker on the front. But turn the backlight on the others down and the energy use is basically the same. Conversely, turn the TCL up and it will look the same as the others.
Smoke and mirrors at its best…
I just ordered the Hisense 50a7hau from goodguys for 475$ they had a 20% off tv code using AUDIO
seems like a good price cheers for the insight
people gonna either Neg or report your deal, because u didn't include price in the title or anywhere else
