Steadyrack Classic Wall Mounted Folding Bike Rack $69 (Club Price) + $7.99 Delivery ($0 C&C/ $99 Order) @ Anaconda

380

Very good bike rack. They fold out the way to minimise the amount of space they take up. Not the cheapest they've been, but a pretty good price.

Mountain bike version also on special for the same price - https://www.anacondastores.com/cycling/bike-racks-storage/st…

That's not a bad price at all. Purchased the classic last weekend at 99Bikes for $80. Have three (3) Steadyracks now and they have been a god send!

    • Do they come with the bottom bracket? For the rear tyre?

      • +1

        yeah, they all do

  • +2

thanks OP, used WELCOME10 for extra $10 off

  • These are awesome. I currently have two

    • Yes, I have 4

      • +1

        I now own 3

    • do they have suction cups or are these meant to be bolted onto the wall?

      • +1

        bolted

      • +2

Wait what, suction cups? Why would a bike rack ever have suction cups. Are there actually bike racks that claim they use suction cups? :0

        • there are car ones, never seen wall mounts using suction cups

        • I dunno I’ve seen them somewhere and just assumed they would be strong enough to hold a bike haha

        • he's trolling duh

    • tried that, they wanted too much for shipping

  • I use these (got for $5) https://www.bunnings.com.au/pinnacle-bicycle-hanger-hook_p26…
Anyone know the advantage of these steadyrack ones? Obviously a lot more fancy but seems to be doing exactly the same job (but taking up more space).
Is it just easier on the more expensive bike rims?

Anyone know the advantage of these steadyrack ones?

The steadyrack ones swivel either way towards the wall so the bike can sit flat against the wall.

      • +1

Also simpler to hang your bike

    • +1

the steady rack ones cup the wheel so the pressure is on the tyre and not hooked on the rim.
The steady rack also tilt/pivot, which is super important if you've got tight spaces. It allows you to almost set bikes up rollerdex style with them overlapping, but separate them out when you need to grab one out from the middle without taking them all off.
Nothing wrong with the bunnings ones. I've got a set of them. but I bought multiple steady racks for my parent's place as they were more space constrained.

  • What makes these better than other racks?

I'm not saying they're bad, but they look flimsy and people are like "these are great" without elaborating.

  • Also can the MTB version be easily used with slim-tyre bikes? I guess it's trickier the other way round, but I'd hope the MTB one catch smaller tyres too.

    • +1

I've bought a mix. Apparently MTB with skinny tyres they just a bit less of a tight fit

      • So an MTB bike with wide tyres won't fit the regular rack. An MTB with slim tyres may fit the regular rack, but it's tight.

Does anyone know about the MTB rack holding road bikes and other skinny-tyre bikes?

Edit: from the MTB rack description:

The Steadyrack Mountain Bike Rack is specially designed for all types of mountain bikes and can also be used for cruiser and street bikes with slightly wider tyres/tires.

Shame it's still a tad vague, but great it allows both spelling options for tyres/tires.

Got 2 of these already. The pinnacle of bike racks

  • Is this not the same thing?

Also how flat do these store against the wall? Why wouldnt i just use a hook on the frame?

    • That's the same thing, except it's for a bike with super fat tyres.

If you have plenty of space, and don't care about your bike tyres pressing agains the wall, a hook is fine. The Steadracks allow you to fold your bike flat, and protect your walls.

Fold you bike flat? That's assuming you loosen the bar, right?

  • thanks op, got the MTB one

  • I grabbed 4 mid last year, after researching & seeing they’re a level above all. Managed to stack specials, paid $67.09ea. So this price, after everything going up, is excellent.

Extremely well designed, all quality components, cheap & look very tidy. Buy!
