I'm going to Zambia for a two week holiday and have been told by my friend that lives there that Mastercard is rarely accepted and they only accept Visa. All of my credit cards happen to be Mastercards so I am wondering if anyone has signed up for a VISA credit card and received a good deal.
By good deal I mean cash or bonus QFF points or Velocity or Flybuys points.
Or alternatively one with a zero or low annual fee.

why not just get a visa debit card if you are only using it for a 2 week trip?

I saw this on TV last week, not sure how the Citibank Rewards rates amongst the programs but for a no annual fee (first year) and a free bottle of wine in some restaurants, you can't go wrong.
NAB have a transaction account with no fees but no interest either and a Visa debit card. And as Davo1111 said, check the foreign withdrawal fees. They are usually a few dollars so don't take out low amounts or it will be a significant overhead.
Just thought I should update on what I ended up doing. I was running out of time so I opened an Ing Direct Everyday Orange Account as they already had my details from my Savings Maximiser. There were no monthly account fees. Everytime I withdrew cash from an ATM it was a flat rate of $2.50. Hence I always withdrew the maximum account. On purchases though I was charged 2.5% International fee which wasn't great.
All in all - a simple no fuss account which is better for overseas than probably most bank issued credit cards, but it's no 28 Degrees Card.
Not just the 2.5% International fee but you would also get hit with their exchange rate for conversion. It is impossible with any reward scheme to cover these two costs.
Personally I have NO clue.
