  • FYI, SRPD75K1 from Watch Depot is $238, or $218 if you sign up to there VIP club. Very tempting! Should I….

You should always buy what you like as you're the one who will be wearing it.

      • +1

I like it, but I already have 15 watches, so you know…. wants vs needs. :-)

        • +5

          Yes 15 seems adequate.

@WatchNerd: OMG! Can you please tell me this about fountain pens and inks? :-D

            (Hint: I won’t listen anyway.)

          Just need a bigger watch box… It's a buy from me. 🤣😂

          • @Penguin30: let me know if you found any good watch box lol

I have the triple winder. Loads of settings for each watch. Very quiet and it lived next to the bed for ages.

@Littlevu: You didnt spend that much money on that just to keep a $300 Seiko running?

                • +2

@itsmoe: For a Rolex and a Mont Blanc (my wedding watch). I’m sure I didn’t pay anywhere near that and my finish was black lacquered wood.

@Littlevu: Beautiful. I've recently started collecting watches myself but I'm on a tight budget so nothing fancy yet, the most expensive I have now is a Blue Dial PRX Powermatic but I have about 7 watches in total.

                    • @itsmoe: Powermatic are Tissot? Solid watches. The Le Locle was supposed to be my wedding watch. Loved the caseback and look.

Should join WatchUSeek, plenty of people who either know this stuff inside out or super passionate or both.

A watch should give you joy wearing it. Because you love the look, the function or the rarity. Don’t just go by the price tag alone because you would never be able to keep up with the Jones haha.

My two watches Citizen Promaster and Seiko from StarBuy were my daily for months. Generally I rotate watches when I have to set the time or adjust the date or plan to go to the beach or pools.

Love to see these on StarBuy weekend flash sale one day

                      • @Littlevu: Yes it is a Tissot and it is a great watch. Love wearing it when ever I do.

Is the WatchUSeek a discord group or something?

Those Seikos are amazing, I've been eyeing the one in the bracelet, don't have a black watch yet and that would be a nice addition but waiting for a discounted price.

                        Enjoy your collection dude.

              • @Penguin30: Just got one of these a couple of weeks ago. Pretty decent for the money I'd say, I'm happy with it.

        • +3

          It's never enough.

        • My number is your plus one, and am still looking to add lol

are we counting multiples or colour variations of a particular model as one watch?

'cos i have 17 q&q solar watches, so one day i just decided i was going to count them all as 1 watch lol.

also not counting the two black casioaks i've got since one of them was bought to be a parts watch for the other casioaks…. .

Awesome watch! Had mine for a few years now.
Recently swapped the bezel insert to change it up a bit. Was around $30 for the part and tools. Just make sure to get a flat insert if you want to swap it.

Photo of watch Photo makes it look glittery, but it looks more textured in person

    • Looks very good, was it hard to change the bezzle?

      • Pretty easy but getting the bezel back on was a little tough.

Remove bezel with tool, remove bezel insert, clean off old adhesive, apply new insert, push bezel back on

    • This looks a lot better to me. Too much blue going on in the original.

    • That's pretty nice. Good job changing that bezel

    • Where did you buy the parts and tools from?

Would this be good to wear to work and for fancy nights out? I'm not normally a watch guy but wouldn't mind a nice decent bit of arm candy.

Edit: Just realised this doesn't have a battery. Nvm.

    • Great watch if you like the style and look of it. I'd also suggest looking at the Seiko Cocktail Time

      • Yeah I like the silver and dark blue finish, something that looks nice and shiny.

        Thanks i'll have a look.

    • +1

You can definitely dress it up or down. It doesn't wear that big, so would look fine in a smart outfit.

    • +1

Why do you want one with a battery? If you're getting it for arm (hopefully more wrist) candy, it doesn't really matter. Mechanical/automatic watches are cooler and generally worth more.

Oh I should say only buy it for your own arm candy pleasure. Nobody else but watch enthusiasts will notice.

    • +1

      Understand where you're coming from.

I'd have a look at an eco-drive or other solar movement.

A nice watch. I wish they had the SSK001K or SSK003K GMT though!

Haha out of all the watches on the Weekend Flash Sale, the Oris Sun Wukong Ltd Ed was the one that caught my eye, OP

    • +2

I think that would look good on you.

    • Wow $2.5k for sun wukong… even just got that ocean needle alone is worth it

Btw I can’t believe my eye… another sun wukong watch by oris retail at $36k lol
Probably I need the price tag along with it when put on the watch to true show the value is that much
