CREATIVE LAB Purchase with Foreign Fees

Hi All,

Curious on your thought about CREATIVE 'AU' Store purchase that trigger Foreign Fees from Credit Card Provider. Since they process CC payment in Singapore.

My past purchased was processed in Australia and am surprised about the difference these days.

Personally, I'm unlikely to buy from them again.

Snippet from their website:

"Credit card transactions are processed in Singapore. We charge in Australian dollars, but certain credit card issuing banks may consider it as an overseas transaction nonetheless, and impose an overseas transaction fee. If you're uncertain if your bank practises this, please check with your credit card issuing bank for details prior to purchase."

    This is more of a bank issue rather than Creative's issue. Banks do want to squeeze out every possible cent!

      Creative can process payments in Australia. My past purchase didn't have this issue.

        The business decides how they want to and Creative are being transparent about it. I dont see any issue with this.

          For the scenario where I'm buying from them the first time or after many year since last purchase, sure. I'd agree.

          However, when I had previous purchase without foreign fees involved, I'm unlikely to check the same retailer's terms every single time. Hence the surprise is a bad taste to Australian Consumers.

          They are also under no obligation to notify me about change of their terms either in case this is what happen.

      Sure, when buying from them the first time and check their terms/faq before committing to purchase.

      My past purchase didn't have this issue, and I'm not sure how many people check payment terms for every transaction from store they've had good experience before.

    Yeah I think it's well known now.

    Last few deals I have seen always had one comment warning others of the international transaction fees by "this mob".
