  So this is spyware or malware, right? If not, why don’t you make it sound safe by releasing it through a reputable channel, such as the Apple Store or Steam?

    itch.io is a reputable platform. It's meant for indie games, and they dont (currently) take a cut of the sales (even tho this is a free game). Obviously, steam is also a platform where one has to pay to be on it - not always an option for an indie dev.

    Apple's walled garden is anathema to the open internet, do not support it.

      This game was on Steam a few years ago, but the developer had a sook and removed it when Valve didn't have a hollow corporate "Black Lives Matter" statement during the George Floyd protests.
