          Basically you just use it whenever you would pay with a normal card. You don't need to advise in advance at all.

          By way of eligibility across the Crown campuses, check https://www.crowngifts.com.au/giftcards/perth.aspx (similar pages for Syd and Mel). Generally speaking, you can use it at any of the restaurants and bars, spas as well as accommodation. (to the earlier comments, this includes Epicurean and Nobu in Perth, and Epicurean Syd).

          Edit - also, you don't need to use the full value in one go. You can just draw down the value over multiple purchases.

            Though IIRC, they can't be used at some of the boutiques. E.g. Chanel & Louis Vuitton since they "don't discount"

            But none of us ozbargainers would be shopping there anyhow.

              @rompastompa: From memory, yes. I recall staying at Crown Towers a couple of years ago and on checkout paid the bill using a few different cards, then the balance on my normal credit card.

              (Just remember, when you book accommodation online, you only give a CC to hold the booking, you don't pay until you checkout)
