Seems like a decent price for an AMD ryzen 7 6800u laptop. RAM is expandable so you can easily upgrade to 32gb if you want.
Only concern is the small 51Wh battery.

Yikes. Thats a no deal.
They DO have a lot of screen options. Many are 250nits. I guess if it's not customised with HP, it's probs going to be 250nits?
From HP page:
CURRENT CONFIGURATION
* 14" diagonal WUXGA LED UWVA Anti-Glare for 5 MP Webcam (1920x1200)(250 Nits)
ALTERNATE OPTIONS
I just bought this laptop. Was able to get it for $1100 slightly used.
So far pretty happy with it. Pretty sure I've got the 250 NITS screen. It's bright enough in a sunny room, but you it's not as bright as my external monitor.
Just a reminder to all that this is HP's business line of laptops. Don't come in here complaining that it's not a deal because you've found some cheaper consumer level trash elsewhere or your mum bought an HP laptop for $500 5 years ago and it didn't work.
This competes with Lenovo's Thinkpad line and IMO is a way better deal because the RAM isn't actually soldered unlike the T14s G3
Im complaining that the screen could be alittle better. 250 nits is so dark it can get a role in the DCEU.
It's definitely where they cut costs.
Zack Snyder wants to have a word with you!
But if you're a business laptop, that's only ever used inside and office or meeting rooms. Why would a company pay $150 more per device for a feature they just don't need?
Got it business laptop. Business people only. Finally got the memo.
Now we got that out of the way. I shall look elsewhere.
@xoom: I mean that's their target market. So most devices will suit that market. Someone linked above the are a few higher spec screen options.
It's perfectly fine for non-business people, that have a similar use case.
This model is allegedly one that can be disassembled and most if not all parts individually replaced; and in that respect competitive/comparable to the Framework laptops (except this one has a better processor).
Theoretically you could swap out the screen at a later date if the 250 nits panel is too dim, but I just have no idea where you might order one.
Better than a lenovo education thinkpad/thinkbook line?
One of the lenovos has 2 x m2 slots and I probably can survive on the soldered 16gb ram, just thinking build quality of HP business line vs Lenovo business line, and screen brightness for unplugged work 250nit 1080p vs 300 nit 2.2k.
Also noted the cheapr lenovo is the 6800h flavour so faster when docked but power hungry relative to the U chip, much of a disadvantage? I like that the lenovo is usb4 for output to a dock. DON't know if this one is?
One of the SKUs of this laptop has a 250nit screen, according to HP. Something to bear in mind.
