Fast 8 Battery Chargers - Any Good?

So I'm one of those people who don't care that if I charge my loops in 2hrs instead of 8, then it will last 40 instead of 50 years. I've also never refreshed my batteries.

I have a 2000mah x4 charger and a 500x4. They're smart shut off but don't have fancy powers. 10yo now, no fires yet.

I have solar so 500mah won't cut it in the time I have energy.

I saw this https://www.protog.com.au/maha-powerex-mh-c980-turbo-eight-a…. 8 bays of 2Ah.
I remember when chargers cost $30ish. Is there something special about this? I just thought more bays = convenient.

Or is it better to own two 4x chargers? I just want something that can do 1-2Ah.

I see the other favs are Liitokala Lii-500S and Powerex MH-C9000PRO? The Lii-500S seems to have some dodgy reviews about uneven measurements etc, I'm not sure.

I also own one 18650 for a torch, it came with a usb charger so i duno.

  • Big fan of the Nitecore d4 - 2 of these would be cheaper.

    • cool I'll add that to my watch list too

  • I have the Maha C9000 Pro, it has more features compared to other chargers.

If you just want to plug in and charge then there are other brands that’s much cheaper that does the same job.

    • I'm not really sure. When do you use the features?
When do you need REFRESH ANALYZE? Do you need BREAK-IN in 2022? Or is it for ppl alive in the 1980s with those nicd stuff.

      • It’s good for batteries that seem dead on other chargers and it may bring it back. Takes a good 16-18 hours for it to do its thing, but then you know if the battery needs to be thrown out or not.

I use the Powerex batteries too and I’ve been using them for the last 10 years or so, still running good.

Good battery + good charger and you get more life out of them.

I also use Panasonic batteries and a Fenix charger for those.

        • Sometimes I find some eneloops or laddas in toys that have been left there for a long time. When I put them in the charger one or two of the cells will show error and blink cannot be charged. If I leave them for a few hours it seems to trickle charge enough so that it can then be charged properly.
So I wonder are these good or is this where you need to do the refresh thing?

Maybe I have one fancy smart charger and then some extras for the normal stuff
