Both terrible options. Cx7 has many known issues, transfer case, bottom end, timing chain, turbo. Terrible fuel economy.

Territory also many known issues, diff bushes, lots of interior and electrical issues, diff bushes, possible trans issues depending on which trans, I didn't look that hard, fuel economy will be terrible, worse than the cx7.

Did brendanm mention the diff bushes on the Ford? If not, I'm telling you, the diff bushes go bad. 😉

Thump thump thump. Thump. Thump thump.

          That'll be the diff bushes.

    Both are not good.
Ford with this mileage has all sort of issue, big and small and parts are expensive.

Mazda is a better option but the mileage is too high and too big for first car.

Why not a Mazda 3, Honda Jazz, Toyota Camry?

Fuel consumption on that territory is a deal breaker.

Turbo replacement on the CX7 is $$$$.

    Avoid both cars.

Also, King Julien Is the best.

Can you not see you've insulted the freak

I love that line in Madagascar

    • Mada-who-ha?
      Not who-ha…ascar 😂😂

    Neither. Both are too thirsty.

Why does your friend want such a large car for a first car? Surely a corolla sized car would be a better option.

    • This. Do they really need a SUV?

  • Get a suzuki..

My Mechanic says - if you're gonna buy used might as well get a Toyota…

Both cars are terrible value, the cx-7 has been up for 22 weeks, if it was that good of a deal wouldn't someone have bought it already?

They're both old, have high kms and no mention of service history either.

Your friend is better off going for a smaller toyota or mazda.

  • i see too many cheap cx-7s on gumtree or marketplace that have low Kms but issues with gearbox or head gaskets. too many that it is a redflag

  • Neither!

  • +1

Both will 'probably' very quickly become a nightmare.
Territories are universally known as crap.
CX-7 is too old too many KMs with an auto. Expect $5k-$7k repair bill for auto sooner rather than later.

Older cars with many kms need much more money in maintenance.
Those 'warranties' are crap, there are so many rip off the customer in the fine print.

Suggestion: buy a smaller newer less KM more reliable car as a first car, learn to drive properly, save up more money, then buy a bigger nicer car in a few years.

That CX-7 is a pig. They’re always seemingly great bargains because of numerous issues

That marketplace seller looks dodgy asf…. good luck claiming against the 12month warranty from a backyard dealer/autowrecker.

  • toyota kluger maybe??
