Miele G 7104 BK BRWS Freestanding Dishwasher (Cutlery Basket) $1299 (Was $2099) Delivered @ Miele eBay

290

Freestanding dishwasher with Cutlery basket and ExtraComfort basket design. Perfect results - only 6 l water consumption in the Automatic programme. Brilliant white finish.

Perfect results using QuickPowerWash in 58 minutes.
No need to towel dry with AutoOpen drying for automatic drying.
Long-lasting sparkle for your glasses - Brilliant GlassCare
Flexibility creates convenience with easy adjustment - FlexLine baskets

I bought this previously for $1574 and considered a bargain, it's even cheaper now. Very well made and quiet, easy to operate, convenient baskets.

Please note this model doesn't have a cutlery rack common to Miele dishwashers. Basket works for my family better as we don't like lining up cutlery and prefer to just throw it in the basket.

Excellent deal. Love my Miele dishwasher. Gets used twice or thrice daily and still going strong after 7 years with only a couple of technician call-outs.

    • +2

Why 3 times a day? How many family members?

      • 2 adults 2 kids.
        Everything goes in there.
        Not the kids though lol.

        • +9

Running a dishwasher even twice is unusual for my household of 5.

        • how do you use so much cutlery, cups, pots etc. for only 4 people?

i kind of think that Miele is a bit overrated, we have had a Miele dishwasher for maybe 10 years and had to get it fixed several times. before that, we had Bosch for 25 years without getting it fixed even once

      • +1

It depends on how much you cook and what you cook. For example stir frying produces a lot of dirty bowls.

  • +2

i got this as well (although I bought a display model πŸ˜‰). These are actually made in Germany, whereas the lower models are made in Czech IIRC.
The AutoOpen function is why got me over the line to get the higher model. And the adjustableness of the trays. I also opted for the cutlery basket too as I grew up with the tray at home and prefered to lift the basket put to the drawer.

  • Miele never offer such deals.

Anyone know the reason for this deal?

    Superseded model?

    • Could be an older model but that is not a worry with this brand!

    • I was able to purchase old models DA2050 BUILT-IN RANGEHOOD $269 and CSDA1010 S/S INDUCTION COOKTOP EXTRACTOR $999, from miele ebay back in June 2020.

It happens rarely, but the discounts are great for those older models, yet still new products.

I don’t know, maybe they are excess stock the development project are unwilling to commit to.

    • +1

The 7104 is still a current model. Perhaps they got too many of 'em.

  • My Miele just stopped working 2 days ago with an F51 error!! I dismantled the pump to check the impeller (thanks Youtube), but now have an F14 error (possibly failing pump, or my dodgy effort to repair). This is only 5 years old, so not sure whether to replace or repair.

    • +4

Buy this one as an upgrade, fix the old one as a hobby project and sell it on gum tree

    • +1

i got a quote for $800 to repair a pump issue, better buy a new one.

      • +1

Just did! A bit disappointed that our existing Miele has stopped working after only 5 years. Not quite sure why I just bought another one…

        • My Miele dishwasher failed at 3-4 years..

It was also crap as washing dishes compared to my older fisher and paykel unit..

      Complain / Complain and Complain

and post to review sites and social media..

they claim their appliances should last 20 years of normal use..

Under consumer laws, it should be fit for purpose..

      Which model dishwasher?

      • It's a G 4203 Active CLST. Purchased for $1099 down from $1399 bought in November 2017.

        • +1

nope different model.. I have a motor and I think a spare pump and god knows what else lying around somewhere for mine…
They left the old working parts replacing them.. and realising.. none of these parts where the issues..

None of the diagnostics stuff would work… so they kept on replacing parts… and they concluded.. the main board was dead.. (hence why the diagnostics wouldn't work properly)..

the motor is $600-$700 plus labour.. that''s how they get you… pretty much uneconomically to fix… and contributing to landfill.. and convince you to buy another $1500-$2000 dishwasher..

you could easily get another non branded one for sub $1000..

  • This or Bosch series 6?

    • +7

I think all Miele dishwasher is much better than all Bosch dishwashers.

    • +1

I have a Bosch, unsure what series. Washes fine, very quiet. Drying is rubbish though.

      • What model?

  • Free standing dishwashers are a thing?

Do you just fill up a removable jug and off it goes?

    • +2

Freestanding means it has 'cladding' all around rather than just bare insulation on the sides. They are fine to slide under a bench in the kitchen, or could be sitting at the end of a row of cabinets.

Most dishwashers I've come across in Australia have been this style - but more 'built in' seems to be more common in some countries.

They usually have a removable top panel for under-sink mounting (my current Bosch one looks a lot neater in my house with the top on, but I did have to trim the back corners of the panel a bit for it to fit in properly).

The old 'wheel in' ones used to have a hose set for drain and fill that would clip to the kitchen sink… Bit of a pest

      • I got a dishwasher for Black Friday and did a bit of searching on this. Based on what I could find, as you say, freestanding means it has cladding all around. You can typically or always remove the top but if you need the extra clearance vertically. The other difference appeared to be that freestanding had extra weighting to them to prevent them moving due to vibrations etc. Built in on the other hand looked to be intended to be screwed into the counter to secure them so are lighter but more involved to install.

    • I was surprised to learn that there are "bench top" dishwashers not connected to water at all. This for example https://www.midea.net.au/product/model-mdwminibl/
I'm not sure what's their market. Houses with no running water?

      • +1

I saw a thread on twitter about these recently. Apparently the market is landlords who refuse to fix/replace the existing dish washer for tenants and buy them these instead.

        • I am a landlord and there is no way i would do that. You can get a real dishwasher easily for the price of that Midea.

      • yeah I've seen Kogan one. A friend wanted one of these as a dedicated dishwasher for their new born πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ I've seen some old apartments that don't have a dishwashers btw, so i guess this is targeted at them.

  • how is this compared to bosch series 6?

  • Also worth getting in touch with the Miele clearance outlets for 2nds - we bought an induction cooktop and integ dishwasher and saved loads - both were new and still going strong after 5+ years. https://www.miele.com.au/domestic/clearance-outlet-3026.htm

    • i did this 😊

  • Miele_official ebay with 148 feedback at 97.8% positive… Is it the real Miele eBay store? Seems low for the brand.

    • +1

      It is the real deal.

  • The bench over my existing dishwasher is only 845mm high, so it looks like this one won't fit. Anyone know if this can be lowered?

    • I just remembered we removed the top off ours to allow it to fit. Assuming (hoping) I can do the same with this one.

    • +1

      From the tech specs:

Height of freestanding appliance 84.5 cm (adjustable by +3.5 cm)

Loves my Miele and huge draw card for me was the superb wash even with the cheapest of tabs. My current AEG is far fussier about tabs in context of clean ratio. Will never consider anything not Miele (German made) now.

  • Out of stock… What a shame , that went so fast

      You were lucky..

the unlucky ones. at those who bought Miele..

Miele, provides pretty much the WORST service of any of the companies, I have dealt with..

I built a new house, and filled it unfortanately.. with Miele appliances.., dishwasher, two pyrolytics ovens, gas and induction cooktop..

The built in dishwasher broke down during COVID lockdown at three - four year old .
Contacted Miele, who sent around an authorised repairer (who we paid the inspection and rrepair fees to) , who determined after three inspections and failure to fix.. it needed a new motor $700+ and $150 labour.. as a starting with no guarantees it would fix the issue…

Contacted Miele.. again.. who after, numerous complaints and threats of Consumer laws.. agree to fund the part, but not the labour.. the orignally repairer (sent by Miele) refused to play ball.

They eventually had to send their own inhouse repair, who after a number of part replacements, motor, pump and stwich.. determine the main baord was faulty.. and the part need to come from germany (3 month wait)..

Pretty out of a dishwahser for nearly 4-5 months.. took at least 6 days off work… to be available for the service people..
Both my wife and I are full time health professionals in the public hospital system.. with three school age kids, during the Melbourne look down..

During ths time Miele was extreme difficult to deal with claiming the machine, is out of warranty. (after 1 year).. and only come to the party after lots of threats. of invoking the consumer laws..

It also tooking posting in social media and review sites for anything to really happen..

    https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/miele?page=4 note 1.5 stars out of 5.0….

A year later.. also during another period of lockdown, the induction cooktop, shorted itself and caught on fire..
This time I knew what to do, made complaints straight away.. .. because of the risk of fire .. I paid a single servfice call… and waited.. 3 months months for the part to come from Germany as well..

This isn't an isolated expierences.. I have help a couple of my work mates, where they have been quoted an enourmous cost for repairs.. (extending what the applicance is worth) else offered a new appliance at 20% off.. to navigate, through the horrible stonewalling by Miele…. you pretty much, need to complain and complian.. and post onto review sites and social media.. tol get their attention..

    1) Miele will attempt to weasel out of their responsibilities under consumer laws
    2) Miele does NOT keep a reasonable stock of parts in Australia… most need to come of overseas.. (freely admitted by their repair staff)
    3) Miele. is simply an average brand in Germany.. but through their marketing genuises in Australia, have convinced Australians, they are a premium brand.. without providing the service expected of paying a 100-200% premium for their products..

I;ve had far better experiences dealing with LG and Telstra… than with Miele..

    • +1

Sorry to hear your experience with Miele wasn't up to the expectations.Truth be told they make good washing machines and dishwashers, the rest I'm not sure worth the price tag.

    • My tears are salty, anyone want that "last one" i got. Reading those reviews, jeebus.
My miele washing machine has been going strong for 10 years.

    • +1

parents have a Miele dishwasher. One call out in 26yrs πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ Obvs ppl experiences are subjective. I was surprised to see no Miele DW made the Choice review st the time… thn saw the latest one had 3 in the top 10 πŸ˜…
i think the cutlery tray was a big deal, but now everyone is doing that.
not sure how many other dishwashers have three sprinklers though πŸ€”

  • Can I remove the top and use it as under bench?

    • +1

Yes you can- but it will probably look a little weird.

  • Avoid Miele. Rubbish dishwashers that barely last a few years. You'd expect 10 years minimum for the price you pay.

    • +2

Do you have a story to tell?

  • For those not fans of Miele, what would you recommend instead for this one?

    • +1

Bosch series 6 seems like the go to.
LG QuadWash has some cool features too.

  • +1

Get Beko dishwashers instead of this over priced junk. Comes with 5 year warranty and does a lot more than no service & over priced brand.

    • +1

Haha I replaced Beko. It rusted, the front panel came off because of brittle plastic, rack stoppers were falling off every other wash, I had to fix discharge a few times because the filter was letting through all big pieces and then the pump would leak triggering leak protection. Not to mention it lacked any soundproofing. Thanks, no Beko.

  • for those who received their unit, is installation or removing of boxes included in the price?

    • Nope not included.

  • Installation will set you back a hundred bucks and removal of your old unit is $35.
