    that's cheap for a 9kg heat pump.

not sure about the samsung brand for appliances though

    • I have had the 8.5kg BubbleWash for 5+ years now and its still going strong. Gets daily use. Though, the Samsung dishwasher we had was rubbish and was returned.

      • Lucky you. Mine died after 5 years.

      • Mine lasted 13 years. The suspension died and there are no spare parts available.

    • +4

Many horrible experiences with their fridges online and I'm another one that can confirm that.

Therefore, I'm never going for Samsung whitegoods again except for maybe washers. I'm on my 2nd one washer now and they've both been working fine.

      • +3

There are not enough 4 letter swear words in the English language to describe my disgust for Samsung ( and Goodguys )

My 8K 75" TV purchase was a disaster and Samsung could not have been worse to deal with.

Defective TV on purchase. Took 2 months to get a repair ( not replacement ).

      • +2

Can confirm fridges issues. My freezer constantly ices up, which makes boxes soggy down there.

Have to dump all the ice and do a thaw out once a month.

        • Is it a French door with slide out freezer? Mine got blocked water hose to the evaporation tray and this would cause defrost water to run down into the freezer compartment, build up and prevent the seals on the freezer from closing properly as the freezer drawer didn't go in fully.

          • @rodericb: Yup. I thought that too initially. Did a jiggle and slam a few times to break off any ice, didn't work

    • I've got a samsung washer purchased back in 2009, this particular model was the non self combusting variety and is still in use today. It's on it's last legs though the top has started to rust and knocks around a bit when starting a cycle. I'm pretty satisfied with the use we've gotten from it.

  • Wow great price. Wonder if comes in white or if can even access hmmm. Probs overkill since only run 1 load a week or so but still tempting

    • +1

If you run 1 load a week and you already have a working standard dryer, you will literally never recoup the outlay in "energy savings" during the service life and you will have an objectively worse user experience.

(generally heat pump dryers are slower and don't dry as "crisp", though maybe with this being a $2000 RRP unit it may perform similar to a standard dryer).

      • +1

They aren't really slower. My Miele does a full load in around 1 hour. Re crispness, that's correct. But too dry is bad for your clothes anyway.

      • objectively worse user experience.

Nope, the heatpump driers collect all the moisture and dispose of it down your drain.

Old fashioned driers usually dump all the moisture into your house.

It's the heatpump that gives the better experience, and also uses less power to do so.

Doesn't seem to have reverse tumble which is, apparently, pretty useful in ensuring untangled laundry.

    • +1

Agree, I have a LG 9kg dryer that does not have reverse spin. Sheets just end up as one large wet ball.

    • Struggling to find that as a feautre on lots of Heat Pump dryers. I wonder why they don't list it on their respective websites…
(So far I've checked LG, Samsung, Miele and Bosch.)

      • I believe its either the way heat pumps work or it effects the high star energy rating

        • it would effect the energy rating. That spin momentum has to be stopped and spun the other way over and over. Probably adds up enough

      • Miele list it and all Miele’s have it.

      • +1

My Hisense heat pump dryer has reverse tumble and it’s around the same price as this Samsung one half price

      • The cheaper ones seem to have them. Esatto, Solt.

      • Electrolux reverse tumble. I have one. It's great. I dry 1 queen size sheet, 1 queen size fitted sheet and 2 pillowcases. They don't get tangled and dry perfectly

      • My Beko heat pump dryer has reverse tumble. It's a great feature.
It was cheaper than this as well.

    • Can't comment on this one, however the lower model DV80T5420AB does according to Choice, and they rated the unit quite highly. I'd be surprised if they removed the functionality on this model

    • It has a wrinkle free mode, which reverses a few times every now and then once it's finished. Haven't had issues in general use with tangling, though I haven't dried many business shirts being WFH.

  • So this is targeted

Intelligent Artificial Intelligent Dry. Not enough intelligent IMHO

    • So it dries the Artificial Intelligence ?

I heard that in Borat voice 😂

Same price on the Samsung Government store

  • So where do we go for the price quoted?

    • See here for a list of employers that provide EPP access. Coles not listed there but they're included as well.

This or an 82" TV… hmmmm

    • Both. This is the OzB way.

    • if the TV was a plasma, you'd have both covered.

  • Great price, we paid $1.5k (through EPP) for the white version back in July. Overall very happy with it and no issues to report, been using it 4-6 times a week especially in the colder weather.

  • I have this exact model. Just check the size with the spot you plan on putting it. It's great to use. The only downside is with large sheets that can get tangled like other heat pump dryers. The wifi enabling is nice because I can turn off all the alarms and just get notifications to my phone instead when it's done.

    • +2

If planning on purchasing, double check the size with your space as it is above standard dryer size.

      • I had this problem when I last moved house. Measured width and depth, eyeballed height. Dryer is 3mm too tall :(

  • Is this big enough for a king/super king size quilt

  • +1

Samsung make good TVs, don't buy their whitegoods. Thank me later.

    • +10

      this one's black

    • Which one is better

  • Given that I've had them fail to deliver the AX90 air purifier a number of times and now they're looking at refunding the order two months later, I'd never order anything from Samsung direct again. Might look at trying to price match them at a retailer in the future.

    • +1

Yes. Avoid buying directly from Samsung, it is likely you will regret it.

    • But does any retailer agree to pricematch with Samsung Employee portal prices?

      • +1

I'll give it a shot the next time there's a samsung special I'm interested in. So far for the air purifier I've gone through the following:
        * initial delivery rescheduled by courier
        * delivery postponed indefinitely by courier because stock isn't available
        * new delivery scheduled a few weeks after complaining to Samsung and courier
        * new delivery postponed
        * new delivery postponed again, and then silently cancelled with "not handed over" reason. Was watching the delivery status, was never "on board", so I believe this means that Samsung never gave the courier the item
        * complained to Samsung again
        * Samsung cancelled the order as a "return and refund" request
        * Booking form sent to me to book in pick up by courier of the item I never received

The whole thing is a mess and is not worth dealing with. I'm seeing this through to get my money back but once that is done I will never deal with Samsung online ever again

        • +1

yikes, i had pleasant experience with all my orders from Samsung direct ordering

  • Try to get the highest spin washing machine you can get so that the clothes are as dry as possible before using dryer

    • Also check reviews as some washers have more trouble with clothes weight/imbalance and struggle to reach their max rated speed, and some don't spin at full speed as long as others. When we were researching for a new washing machine we saw quite contrasting comments on clothes dryness for the same RPM between different brands.

    • The Bosch washing machine + heat pump dryer combo deal that was being posted a while back was a better offer. In general, Bosch does great washing machines and dishwashers.

The bosch heat pump dryers aren't far off the price of the Samsung when on sale.

Where did the $1024.50 come from? It shows the orig price when I checked it. Thx

    • Did you actually log into the EPP portal? The link in OP is just the global site.

  • Is there any way for a non-Samsung-EPP member to access this deal?

    • Ask your Friends

  • Yes its available at this price under education account

  • how to login to the epp portal? i login with my education.vic.gov.au account it its showing as $2000

  • Also can get extra $200 when purchase a
    Samsung washing machine too

  • It only lets me set a stock alert on the education site. Can't actually order it. If I try to pre-order, I get an empty cart. Anyone else having better luck?

    • No. Must be OOS even for pre orders?

  • Never again with Samsung whitegoods.

    • +2

As above. This one is black

      • +3

        Again, hilarious.

  • There's a Samsung gov store?

  • +1

this is available again for pre-order.

    • thanks ordered one and now to start doing my research on it

      • Me too. Delivered on 29th.

        • cool, mine still says processing, let me know how yours goes, would be surprised if mine gets delivered this year

          • +1

@michael9865: Delivered. I had bought a washer dryer mat and the delivery Guys wouldnt put it on top of my washer without the proper stacking kit. Have done 2 loads. Works very well. Definately gets hot don't understand reviews that say they don't heat.
