heya. when tethered, the same encoding technology is apparently used, just without the possible restraints of the wireless network afaik. some comments I have found have suggested Virtual Desktop wireless can work better than Air Link wired.

Here is the link to the youtube video. You get to choose between a rtx 3060 and a 6700xt (if you win), personally I would choose the rx 6700xt. Good luck!

..air link is also used for the wired counterpoint? God damn that's a dumb name then
oh, i believe it is just called Oculus Link when wired, sorry; i guess it just seems more convenient in my head to phrase it Air Link wired, adjunct to its wireless counterpart 😅
For a primarily gaming* system, a 6700XT is a wildly better choice — The 3060 only makes sense if you plan to do non-gaming workloads like GPU-accelerated video rendering, CAD, or AI stuff.
* Air Link VR can have issues with AMD's encoder afaik, user reports vary but it's entirely possible that it's been fixed, not entirely certain. Haven't heard about any issues when going tethered, and I haven't looked into other wireless VR types.
