Seems to not be valid for people outside the US, due to the GC being region locked.
Most of the other mainstream gift card brands, including Discover and American Express are never accepted outside of the U.S. You can’t even use them in Canada. Here’s a look at how the most common gift cards work:

I see. Does this mean that even using it on Amazon or other shopping sites would not be possible?
I'm not entirely certain but I personally wouldn't count on it (Amazon.com non-au works in AUD when shipping to AU, for example)
