18V AEG Brushless Hammer Drill Kit (2x 4Ah Battery and Charger) $199 (Was $289) @ AEG via Bunnings Special Order Desk

600

Bit of a behind the scenes deal here. I've been keeping my eye on the AEG prices during black Friday.

You can access the 2022 product here: https://www.bunnings.com.au/aeg-18v-4-0ah-force-brushless-ha….

AEG only added this price to the website as of 25/11. I haven't purchased this myself, and Bunnings hasn't updated the kit even on the trade website. But go to the special orders desk and you should be good (see if powerpass brings the price down further). $189.05 with powerpass thanks to @pavlos

I figure the batteries and chargers are worth at least $199. The drill is brushless (and goes for about $229 alone), and i'd say it performs better than my Ryobi brushless, but my DeWalt is still a step above. And side note, OnePass is actually pretty good for most bunnings orders, if this was not a special order it would qualify for free delivery. But you'll probably have to pick this one up yourself.

Edit: Heads up I've done some further 'journalism' and discovered these were manufactured in 2019 so this is likely clearance of older stock. Still, I'd cop this deal if I didn't already have the drill. AEG offers pretty good extended warranties if you register online, even for batteries.

Merry ozbargaining :)

Wishful thinking but you've linked to two different products… the product on the AEG website (BSB18B2M-402C, I/N: 0092314) is an older 81Nm drill with older NON-FORCE batteries, whereas the Bunnings product linked (A18PDB42C, I/N: 0358300) is a newer 90Nm drill with new FORCE batteries.

You can lookup the correct Bunnings product matching the AEG website linked on the Powerpass app using I/N 0092314 which shows at the correct price $189.05

    • I've got this (non-force) drill and batteries. It's served me well for the ~4 years I had it. I believe I paid $400 for drill, driver 2x batteries and angle grinder.

    Good deal IMO.
Built quality is way better than ryobi.

It's 81Nm, should be the old stock. New model is 90Nm

    • Yea i realised that too moments after posting unfortunately. the 2019 model uses slightly older batteries and the older driver. Still, I'll leave it up as it is still reasonable value for the batteries alone imo. I imagine if you really want to grift you could claim the batteries don't perform under warranty and they'd most likely replace them with force equvalents.

  • AEG were sold out to private equity years ago similar to Metabo recently, if you think your getting quality German engineering anymore you're dreaming.

  • I have the older version of this set. Bought 6 years ago. It's amazing. I got it for 249.
Drilled through rock, masonry etc without any issues

I really don't get this whole "german" engineering thing.
my metabo made in germany impact wrench died after 3 use, 4 months warranty wait.
my ozito made in china wrench working after 2 years of abuse, swap over warranty.

  • I have a original AEG corded hammer drill made in West Germany (shows you how old it is) that I inherited from my father. Still works like a beast although it mainly sits on the shelf as a prefer my battery Milkaukee's.

If it was German engineered and made it was a different thing back then, now most of the power tools for money are pretty decent irrespective of where they are made.

  • These are d****king good!!!

  • Thanks for the post! Picked one up today - Local Bunnings store had it in stock (low stock though) and had marked it as clearance at $199.

  • Thank you for the post! Spoke to my local Bunning's Special Order desk - it is deemed as deleted range and will require enquiry to be made. Does that mean its sold out?

Snatched the last one at Bunnings Croydon VIC - $115.00. What a win!
Visited the Bayswater store today, no stock but staff did a search and told me there were 1 at Croydon & 2 at Doncaster. Doncaster store said they had none. Called Croydon store, staff had to take a look first and had to call me back. Turned out they had the very last unit at $115. Drove there right away… Couldn't be happier although it is the older model (81NM one)

    • My local bunnings only has them for $199. Wouldn't budge to the $115. I don’t need the drill just the batteries so I'll wait.

  • Anyone want to be my "mate" and send me their referral code for a free tool for us both? AEG are asking for more detail than the random referral code gives (i.e. who's your mate and what tool do they want). Please PM me with your code and we'll sort something out! :)

    • u can use the refferal link to get someones bro

      • Yeah I tried that but then had AEG not honouring it and asking to email them "what tool your mate wanted" etc - suspect perhaps that code has been used a heap of times already and they're getting sus about it.

If you have one to share with me - send it me on the PM and let's get us both a whipper snipper or something!!! :)
