Hey all.
Does anyone know the general cost of a company to truck down a Mazda CX5 from Sydney to Melbourne?
Any recommendations?

Nice is a bitch of a stretch, it's decent until Yass, annoying but still nice from Yass until Albury with the ascents and descents and then it's crap from there on with all the cameras that ping you for doing 3km/h or more over the limit.

New yoga move?
Wtf
The drive down and the plane fare back costs about $500 not taking into account the time component.
Depot to depot should be fine and considering it is a mx5 open should be fine.
MX-5 or CX-5?
If it's an MX-5 I would fly to Sydney and drive home down the East coast over 2 days. Awesome.
Driving an mx5 down from Sydney via the coast actually sounds pretty good!
drive down rhen fly home.
Seems to be a bit more expensive to do that, if it is roughly the same price (fuel/plan ticket) it would be a saving not to waste a day.
Guess comes down to if it is around the $500 mark or not.
less likely for screw ups, eg. damage.
Did you happen to try getting a free, instant quote from car transport companies?
Free transportation from Sydney to Melbourne. *** Must drive yourself.
That's a pretty good deal if timing is flexible and fuel is included!
This can be a nice trip to do with someone else, if one has the time, but that's certainly NOT free, is it?
That's about 900km, or 9h driving.
I'm pretty sure the CX5 is not moved by solar energy.
I moved my car (valued at ~40k) from VIC to QLD last year. I went to truckit.net and got 4 or 5 quotes, then selected one of them. Paid around $800, which was actually reasonable considering COVID times and the distance (it was during those weird times when we couldn't cross the border).
Service was completed by Haulcar (you can find them on Google) and I was pretty happy with everything. They communicated well, and let me transport things in the boot with no extra charge, which was helpful. They also facilitated delivery when I had to change the drop off place.
If I was to move my car again, I'd contact Haulcar.
Great thank you!
For comparison purposes, google says that if you drive the car to melbourne, meaning that would only cost you your time and fuel ($100?), the bus fare back would be $83, and the train fare $43. Each would take about 12 hours.
Fuel cost would be about $200, train is probably $200 as well, no idea how they justify that.
900km, assume 7l/100km for a cx5 on Highway. 7x900/100=63litres. 63x$1.80 =$113.
Drive down. If flights are too expensive then catch a bus or train back.
u know what's the hardest thing about catching a bus or a train? finding somebody 2 throw it 2 u. :)
Yellow pages? Mr Google?
You don't say when this has to be done, or if you need to drop the car there and return ? Remember its Christmas (school hols) soon, heavy traffic on roads if you drive, double demerit points and huge revenue raising push in some states. Also not the time for any "public transport like air, bus, train. to return if needed
From $400 to $2,000+ It all depends on what sort of transport you need and where from and where to.
Depot to depot is cheapest, door to door is most expensive. Covered in float is more expensive than open car carrier.
Alternative is, just drive it down. It’s a nice drive with freeway all the way. Only takes about 8 hours.
