Er, no, he said it costs $120 to START the game. In fact, it costs $0 to start WoW, because everyone starts at level 0 and you can play free up to level 20. Once there, you only have an outlay of $80 which is equivalent in price to most new release games like Diablo 3. That $80 includes 30 days of gameplay.
And I think part of his point is that you're paying new release price for a game that's almost 7 years old, plus requires a subscription.

To be fair it doesn't cost your virginity. That ain't going anywhere while you play WoW.
Okay fine, it costs $80 to start playing the game.. what ever, the point obviously isn't HOW much it costs but rather that it costs TOO much to start such an old game.

With DOTA 2, SWTOR and D3. No one really plays WoW these days.
People still play SWTOR and D3? Id rather get back onto wow than play those 2 fails. DOTA 2 is a pretty good time sink however.
Are you kidding? SWTOR and D3 were two of the biggest let downs in gaming (along with Duke Nukem).
Decent amount of people still play WoW. I always get back into it whenever I get bored of all my new games since there's always something new to do. $10 for each expansion is a sweet deal since Mists of Pandaria is due soon

This is a good deal. Target has Battlechest for $15 if you want a physical copy straight away.
If you have a friend that plays and you're in no rush to play yourself, log in once and then leave the game unused for 3 months. Your friend can resurrect you then - at which time you'll get a free upgrade to Cata and one character of your choice boosted straight to 80. Caveat: the Resurrection deal may not be in effect 3 months from now.For any of those who had played wow and stopped playing (by not having an active subscription before march 4th 2012) and was considering dropping 10 or 20 bucks on the expansions or thinking about returning to the game,..be aware that there is the scroll of resurrection that you can have a friend send you that will give you free upgrade to cataclysm and a boost to lvl 80 with any character of your choice (including if you create a new lvl 1)
