Are childrens' TV shows all about social engineering you child? I have a 6 month old and all the media seems focused on engineering your kid, even down to slight word changes in old nursery rhymes. I mean most of what they are promoting are things I actually want to replicate in my child, I just find it kind of weird.
Not all children’s shows.
There are good ones and then there’s one like Peppa pig.
Not sure I’d be using tv for a 6 month old all the same.
Certainly not a recommended age for such.
I don't use TV for my child at all just playing him childrens' music. Even that I worry if it's overstimulating.
@bleeder: Great to hear.
We did give some tv time when our toddler had respiratory issues (as needed them to reduce their activity level).
I do notice now though that they’re not really that interested in TV much (currently 20 months old).
Wish I could say the same for our toddlers fascination with both our iPhones and iwatches.
We don’t let them do anything on it. But amazed how they’ll manage to open the camera app, lock you out of your password , and search for things on the phone.
They learn soo quickly technology. It’s scary even.
Not sure if you are aware or not but the recommended amount of screen time before the age of 2 is zero.
I give him zero screen time.
…"Kids are losing the capability of developing skills in empathy and reading other people's body language because they're so not in tune with it anymore,' she said."
More likely (antidote), babies are watching adults body langauge, while we all hold phones and not look at each other and not react and respond
The Peppa Pig theory I'm not so sure of.

Still a rip off. Peppa is the worst!
Agree. So annoying. Don't know why kids love this show.
