Looking for a 2x Spinkler Controllers for Front and Back Lawn

I am looking for 2 spinkler controllers and 4 solenoids (2 in each zone), back and front yard. My current setup is a tap timer for each zone which is highly impractical.

Both of these zones have standard GPOs available one zone has a meter box so the other would need a water proof enclosure. I can program stuff if required but would like an off the shelf product if possible.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

  • Go onto Bunnies web and see the options they have.

  • I don't think you can get controllers with only 2 zones you may need to go with a 4 zone. I have 2 zones in my backyard running off a Rainbird ESP-RZXe Wifi model and am pretty happy with it. The app has programs that you can select from and programs it into the controller without having to go to the controller. You can also get an add on rain sensor so it doesn't water if it rains. I would recommend to look at wifi models and what you can do through the apps for ease of use.

Great if you want integrate with home assistant or other automation, as it can be used via mqtt on local network. Otherwise, also works just via their phone app as well. I've had one about a year and been really happy with it

  • You can't run 2 solenoids at once off a station on 1 channel or at the same time on 2 channels. So I'm told on any domestic brand anyway.

You can run this off your phone in VPN mode if away. Bought it last year but haven't used it to much replacing my non WIFI one.

You need to run different times on each channel. If the times overlap the system will go in a loop and wont shut down
Say C1 starts at 4AM for 10 mins and C2 starts at 4:09 it will go in a loop.as C1 hasn't finish so as soon as C2 takes over C1 starts again…
Easy to wire any solenoid valve off ebay/Aliexpress has worked on mine (voltage matched). Loop the neutral so 2 pair will give you a spare 3rd valve if you ever need it
    .

    • You can, just connect those 2 solenoids to one single terminal on the controller.
