Looking at spending $1000 - $1200 on a 40" LED LCD TV - recommendations?

Was thinking probably a Series 6 Samsung or something similar, any suggestions or recommendations?
Would prefer one with a built in media player so I can just plug in my external hard drive with my movies and tv shows (avi format) and it will play without format issues.
