Which Budget Cordless Lawn Care Tools?

I currently use an old Ozito 36V 3AH mower, Ryobi 2-stroke whipper snipper and Homelite 2-stroke blower. The mower works fine but the battery is on the way out and they don't make the batteries anymore, so need to upgrade. I also want to upgrade the 2-stroke tools to battery operated. I have a small 800 square block to maintain and am perfectly fine doing over a two day period if battery needs charging.

My main question is what would be the best budget friendly brand / option to get me these 3 tools interchangeable with batteries. Running the same batteries would be a big saving if possible. From what I see looking on bunnings etc is the whipper snippers use a different AH battery so not interchangeable with mower?

    • Cheers, not sure why I didn't see that on Bunnings. Would I notice a massive power drop going from 36V to 18V?
The YouTube reviews of the Ryobi show it works good but the comments are mixed, saying you need to run over the same area more than once.

      • I use a 36v Ryobi mower and my parents use an 18v Ryobi mower.
I've used both (on different lawns) and whilst I notice the difference in power, it completely depends on what grass you're mowing and how much. And of course there is the price difference

        • Yeah I'm thinking 36V as I wouldn't want it less powerful than this thing I'm using.

  • +1

What's the Ozito 36V mower? are you sure the batteries aren't made anymore? 36V Ozito mowers are usually 2x 18V batteries.

I bought this one about 5 years ago:

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-36v-2-x-18v-cordless-l…

Still running fine and they all use a standard Ozito battery. I use it with the Ozito 4AH batteries (2x). Does not matter what AH battery they are. They should all physically fit. The AH represents the battery capacity, so the bigger they are, the longer the tool will run for.

    • Mine is really old, bought it second hand about a year ago. It is an LML-136 and it uses a single 36V 3AH battery, part number ACCLB-136

      • oh wowsers, did not know it was that old! didn't know ozito had a 36v line either haha

  • How would I go with Ozito? Will the 18V batteries from the mower work in the trimmer/blower?
It means for total cost of $480.50 I get a 36V mower. $81.50 more than Ryobi above.
    Ozito Mower
    Ozito Trimmer
    Ozito Blower

    • Just saw there is a kit available with the trimmer/blower @ $99 So overall the cost would be $418 for all 3.

      • I've got all ozito garden care stuff. The tools are good, the range is decent. I've had 4 batteries die over the last 5 yrs. Some my fault (running then to zero and then leaving them off the charger).

That said, I'd probably go Ryobi if they're cheaper or even a little bit more expensive. The Ryobi range is bigger and they have the same warranty at Bunnings
