Mistakenly redeemed Big W gift card by Big W payment system

Recently I bought some Big W gift card through the Preezze deal. Its nice. $50 with $5 in extra.

I was planning to use the 2 GCs on a purchase of a discounted air fryer.

Unfortunately I got both Big W gift card being eaten by their system during the payment.

Plus 2 pending numbers in my bank account that tried to charge me from Big W and freezing me up around $200.

Just wondering how long will it usually takes to reissue those for me?

I've contacted support but seems they are keep dragging me on without any accurate answer.

Scenario:

  1. No order is created with failure payments
  2. Eaten up gift cards
  3. Pending transactions shown in my bank account

Anyone would like to share if you have a similar experience?

    Maybe the system was hungry?

    You have provided very little detail on what happened, so I suspect no one will be able to relate to your scenario unless the Big W check out system was also hungry and ate their gift cards too…

      My scenario is that no order is created with failure payments + eaten up gift cards + pending transactions shown in my bank account.

        You need to rephrase your post title and explain clearer.
        Are you trying to tell us you purchased a Big W gift card, the transaction is pending on your credit card but the gift card hasnt been issued?
        Was it an egift card? have you checked your junk mail?
        Did you receive a confirmation of the order and an invoice?
        Was it a physical gift card?
        Or
        Has a company called "About" redeemed a gift card of yours that was issued by another company called "The System"

    Did you end up getting your money back? I've had the exact same thing happen to me, $130 of gift cards used up and the order never got placed. Rang Big W this morning and they weren't able to say if they can help me. Been told to wait 24-48 hours for them to look into it, but I'm not feeling confident.

      It took me a week to get it back, as a WISH GC.

        I'm still not having any luck. I've rang Big W 4 times now, and all they do is refer me to the gift card department, who say they can't help me and refer me back to Big W. Who did you end up having success contacting?

          Just gone through web chat for quite a few times and I did ask for a reference number of reissuing GC to check their progress.

            @solacens: Finally got my gift card money back! For anyone in the same boat in the future, I just had to keep calling back until I got someone who could help.
