Show Maximum Profitability

I have a suggestion:

For deals involving cashback with cap, calculate maximum profitability and show in the details automatically.

For example 15% cashback with $20 cap would say something like:

Maximum spend is $146.63 to get the full cashback $20.

My counter suggestion is you do it and post it as a comment.

  • complexities arise with GST in or out.
where is MathNerd when you need him?

    • need to include whether they have surcharge on credit card too
also the value of money, so if you use credit card and have interest free period, you can invest that money at a minimum in bank cash rate, unlike using debit card, but also need to fact in things like credit card annual fees
and if you use debit card but have an offset and a home loan, it does mean you will lose out a bit, got to factor that in
also if you sue afterpay you might be able to spread it over a few months, but got to factor in the fact you might miss a payment and have to pay fees or have debt collectors come, which mean you might go bankrupt, lose your house and a job
also if it doesn't get implemented you have to factor in the time to calculate this, that cost money
also the time spent reading this post , that cost money too
i've lost about 10 bucks just writing this post!

Maximum spend is $146.63 to get the full cashback $20.

    Minimum?

    $146.63

    0.15 x X=20

    X=$133.3?

    • GST normally excluded from cashback?

  • Don't you mean minimum spend?

    • And that is why we need a calculator built in

  • Maximum profitability

Maximum profitability is probably achieved if you don't purchase the item.
