Just got a message from a unknown number +1 323-435-0543 on my WhatsApp installed on my Android. Search around on the internet and based on their lousy grammar, it is a scam so be careful.
Message begins as:
Hello: You WON a IPHONE 4S from us since its 5th anniversary of Whatsapp. To see the prizes and claim your present please proceed to next page.
The prizes havent been confirmed within 5 hrs will be declined. Confirm Phone Number:http://goo.gl/pyQOE?614########

it is surprising that someone needed to do some search on the internet first to realise it was a scam message (well, also based on its lousy grammar). i guess you did wish it was true that you WON a IPHONE 4s.
btw, i receive the message too and deleted immediately.
I received the SMS too and deleted it.
I don't think there is anything wrong with searching on the internet first. I did, I checked because I was surprised that itcame through whatsapp.

Looks like they are patching the security holes, but there are obviously some residual issues or new issues still to be resolved

That is very poor form. Glad I don't use this.
