What is the difference between this and Jack Link's Beef Jerky?

    Geronimo's = 40g @ $4.00
    JackLink's = 50g @ $2.99

    • It's a jerky-off!

    • +3

JackLinks tastes like ass in comparison.

  • +7

    Not a bargain imo.

At $100 a kg better to buy in bulk from djays (prices range but comparable jerky is $62 a kg) and is good tasting www.biltong.net.au

    • Agree with you 100%. Anyone tried the Droewors? I've never had it before is it worth the $49/kg special?

      • +1

They look tasty, but check the ingredients list before you buy - they contain MSG. http://www.biltong.net.au/tpages.php?region=9

I dunno if it's me or others suffer this too, but I get bad insomnia if I have MSG.

    • +2

Agreed. I've moved over to Djays after a really dry, tough batch of Geronimo. At $108 for 1kg of Geronimo delivered vs $67 of Djays moist biltong delivered it's a pretty easy decision. I do prefer Geronimo's flavours, but I'm not prepared to take the risk on a bad batch again for twice the price. Sorry Geronimo, you've lost me.

    • +1

Thanks for the link. I have ordered a sample pack :)

      • same, unfortunate that Geronimo has basically advertised for DJays. Might see if they have a sample pack too!

      • Ditto, good idea.

I don't believe people will go out and purchase 25 x 40g bags of Geronimo Jerky to make up a kilo. We have kilo bags too that work out to be $90 in a kilo.

      • -1

Bad pricing, inconsistent product, poor customer service.

That trifecta gives you a neg for this deal.

  • -1

Not a deal - You can buy 250gm jerky (flavours: Soft, Teriyaki and Hot N Spicy) at Costco for $8.99 (and yes it's australian)

    • Teriyaki is the best imo :)

  • +9

The only problem with all the negs is that you're not comparing Geronimo Jerky to Geronimo Jerky… you're comparing it to other products… unless the jerkys are exactly the same (flavour..ingredients etc)… I don't see how you can neg a deal if you prefer a different product. Its fair enough you don't agree with the normal cost of it…but unless you can find Geronimo Jerky cheaper elsewhere (which I think will be hard)…how are the negs justified?

Isn't that just as much as negging all iPad deals because you think the Samsung Galaxy Tab is better? Just confused that's all.

PS> I personally don't think this is a good deal…I've seen much better from TBC.

    • +5

agreed, comparing geronimo to something like jims jerky or costco is no comparison. I find the competitions jerks too chewy and plastic in texture. But agree have seen better deals from geronimo

    • +1

Totally agree. Geronimo jerky just has the right texture and flavour that I expect from real jerky, unlike the chewy, rubbery junk that passes for jerky as per negs above.

The price, though, seems to be higher than previous Geronimo bargains. I remember our house doing a bulk order of 20x 40g (mixed) + 1x 200g, total 1kg for $83 delivered.

Just replicated that order on the site, and it currently comes to $104. I'll wait for a better deal.

Thanks Maestrok, We have a Monthly special so I decided to post-Our best was over a year ago with 50% off. This caused us grief as we were OZBARGAINED and orders took over a month to get out. We post deals and create deals that offer savings and that we can deliver on now :-)

      Take care.

From my past experience I did not forget how many times I had to tell you I don't like the flavour of "one month shipping" at all.

Jojo-Ma-that happened 1 time-now deliveries for the past YEAR have been 3-5 days.

  • +3

Every other jerky I've had tastes like ass compared with Geronimo.

But they're still too expensive for my tastes.

If the bigger bags go on sale for something approaching 50% off, I'll bite big time.
