Dell S3221QS Monitor - Likely to Price Drop Again?

Bought one about 18 months ago for around $450. Want a second one now to run two of them side by side

Now I see they are up around $828! Nearly double the price!

Last time it was on special was in June for under $500 hoping it will come on special again for around that price again maybe Black Friday?

Saw other brands like Samsung on special but I want matching monitors worried the Samsung might sit higher or lower than the Dell or the curve won't be the same

Can't justify paying $828 for it if I know if will come to under $500 again. I wonder how they the price can be so high when we know it can come to under $500 on special

  Almost 8 years on Ozbargain and you're only just now learning about retail and discount pricing? Sale prices make people make impulsive purchases. Retail price is what you pay when you don't want to wait. Dell can charge $830 because some people won't want to wait until an unknown point in the future (particularly corporate purchasers, who make up their real market), then they sell at a sale price to move more units at a lower margin to make a similar profit for people who only buy when things are on sale (or they need to clear stock)

  Anyway, I called Dell's crystal ball support team since mine isn't working, should get a replacement one in 3-5 days.

  Think i read somewhere on here that Dell monitors were all going up in price from July so it may be that a good deal on one of these monitors may be around the $600 mark now. Big fan of the monitor at the special price point, probably not worth it at retail though. Fingers crossed there will be a Black Friday sale for you
