I started a forum topic to remind people of one week remaining with the Microsoft Cashback and its gone?
I posted in the forums as many people may have forgotten this deal and could miss out.

So whats the deal?

    Forums are hopeless… The side list needs to be longer on the front page and be 'bumped' if someone is commenting on that thread. Works great in all the other forums ive been part of in the past. Otherwise once its off that short list on the front page its forgotten :/

      Completely agree.
      That post I have made will sit unseen in the Rebates forum.
      Basically too many sub-catagories.
      Cant see people opening each one to stay up to date.

        Yeah unfortunately when they made more sub-categories it made the forums even worse. Maybe we should make a thread about it.. although it will probably get buried too LOL. I will try to write something I guess.

          Yep, if you can be bothered going through all the sub-forums ( I never have before) you can see the date ranges. Most posts fester and die.

          Would reckon say three basic categories would lead to a much livelier and useful place.

          Actually agree as well - there are too many categories.

          The 'Cheapskate Intelligence Agency' isn't used - the topics should simply be put in General Discussion. The Cashback categories should also be deleted.

    Hey, king tightarse, I am in the process of making an improved spreadsheet for analysis of the MS cashback deal…
    By improved I mean a more up-to-date price comparison than the xls maintained by ___ in the original bargain post.

    It's probably not that worth it? Since as you said there are only a few days left for cashback. But I'm sure it could be a useful tool as a last minute guide…

    Since you were keen on a reminder for others, I would like to offer to provide my spreadsheet for you to include on your forum post?

      Thats mighty motivated of you fyrepindx!
      I was originally just going for "heads up" type reminder as the original deal was posted on the 24/5.
      There are five days left, ends on the 5/7

      So maybe a "best of" or hottest selection?- something like that could help people. But please dont go to too much trouble!
