The bad news is — I have made a stupid mistake just then when I was running scripts on the server — I WIPE THE ENTIRE DATABASE. You see, I have this script called record_prize.py that lets me record the winners each week. I also have this script called recreate_database.py that drops the entire database and recreates from a blank file…
Guess which one I have typed? Actually with shell completion, by the time I worked out what is going on was already too late!!!
Lucky that I am doing daily backups at 3:40am in the morning, so I quickly restored the database to the state as of this morning. However there are some posts and comments that are lost, i.e. the ones posted between this 3:40am this morning and 12pm when I accidentally dropped the database.
D'oh.
Well, if you have posted something (I know Steve posted something about Harris Technology in the forum, and there are some comments elsewhere), and have found them disappeared… No, it wasn't draconian moderation at work :)
