Probably a price error, but good value if not. Too good of a deal to not have a crack at it.

If you can't add the linked item to your cart - check the other sellers page. Managed to grab the same thing (6x700ml) for a couple bucks more.

    • I can see no other sellers :P

      • There were two when I bought mine (bought the deal from LiquorKart for $82.99) - but it disappeared as soon as I checked the page again afterwards. Shame!

        • Yeah only seller now is a 50% rated one.. ah well.

My Drinks Network one is still in progress but now looking at the seller I'm not even sure if I'll receive one bottle :~)

        • Yep. Same for me. Let’s see…

          • +3

@ts13: Still not shipped.. or cancelled… I'm starting to wonder if I should just cancel the order rather than get 1 bottle for $107

  • +2

Our order has still not been sent from 'Drinks Network' Is anyone else still waiting?

    • +1

      Same. Says arriving 12-13 Dec.

    • +1

      still waitin

    • +1

      Same. Waiting to ship.
      Arriving 29 November - 30 November

      • We’ll see what happens on 29-30 November 😂

        • can't wait for it!!!

      • Update - it still hasn’t been shipped out doubt they will honour it.

        • I cancelled my order with the a week or so ago and it's still sitting as awaiting cancellation so they can't even do that right.

  • I ordered through Drinks Network. It's not shipped yet, but hasn't been cancelled either. Says arriving Dec 1-2nd.

Weirdly though it looks like I've been refunded the full amount, or it was never charged to begin with. But my tax invoice shows the order went through correctly and I didn’t receive any notifications about the payment being refunded etc. Anyone else in thr same boat?

    • yeah same issues with me. Guess we just wait?

    Hello,

We have been in seven days of resolution with Amazon to find out why they sent us 30 orders of 6 bottles of gin for the price of 1 bottle. Your order was one of these mistakenly processed orders pushed to us by Amazon.

After no less than 5 Amazon consultants pushing the matter around, they have found no answer. We apologise on behalf of Amazon for their mistake and inability to contact you for the complication they have created.

We will continue to be patient while we wait for Amazon's senior seller support to resolve this matter. In the meantime, please cancel the order or, request that we send you the single bottle. Unfortunately, we are unable to send 6 bottles as this was in error.

We wish you all the best this festive season. H - Drinks Network MD

Thanks for inquiring. I guess most of us were too scared to ask! If you don’t open the box, the cat is neither dead nor alive…

Sucks to find out that the cat is dead. Not sure if I should cancel or wait for Amazon to resolve and maybe receive a credit or some other comp.

      • I waited, this was sent to me without inquiring. I believe in keeping quite. Those who bought from Amazon might have luck.

        • I think they confirmed those orders were cancelled ages ago. See comment from sp432 above.

    • Got this msg too. I’m going to let them cancel if they want to!!

      • Yeahhh think I might do the same. Must be some reason they're not cancelling themselves and instead pushing onto the customers.

        • Yeah true.

    • Oh, cry me a river. It's not Amazon's mistake, it's on them. I could sympathise with small business losing money here, but sympathy has gone now that they don't want to take responsibility and shifting it to others (Amazon and consumers).

It looks like they were playing the system and gazumping other sellers for the same product, but got burned as they haven't noticed that this product was clearly listed as 6-pack of 6x 700ml bottles, with unit count also very clearly showing total of 4,200ml.

Australian consumer law applies here, this was the advertised price for 6x700ml, order was accepted, money was taken. A week after it's still showing as about-to-be-shipped and money is still gone.

I reckon there's still a chance for order to be fulfilled, at loss for seller or Amazon (or combined, if deal is made with "5 Consultants" - good name for a gin?), as consequences for breaching the ACL could be much larger.

      • +1

Not quite sure if that’s right, bud. Even if the third party company canceled and refunded the order, what loss has a consumer suffered that they could claim in Court? At worst, they might get the order fulfilled. It’s very unlikely either company (Amazon or the third party) will be penalised anything extra for what is clearly a price error. The ACL is not an instrument to punish companies. It is an instrument to protect consumers and ensure fair trade. This is a price error. They haven’t scammed you.

And unlike having issues with a telco or a financial institution, I do not think there is a costs-free government body like the TIO or AFCA dedicated to managing small consumer claims like this. To try and get this enforced would likely require you to commence proceedings in a small claims Court, and I really hope you have better things to do.

You’ve made a few statements in your comments which are fuelled by emotion and based on pure conjecture. You’re flouting knowledge of the law which is clearly incorrect.

I also placed an order for these gins - I’m not pleased it likely won’t get fulfilled. But I’m not angry or disappointed. I assume Amazon has T&Cs entitling them to cancel orders which are pricing errors and are well within their rights to do so. I don’t feel bad if Amazon fulfils the order and suffers the loss, but I would if the small company was required to wear the loss. Have some sympathy, mate. The world isn’t out to get you.

          Good reply and I concur.

I am not disappointed for not getting the cheap gin, the issue is with the seller not taking the responsibility for their own actions. It's not Amazon that published their product for sale under these terms. While this OZB discussion was active, this got sold out a few times, but they kept adding more stock - while the page and product description were clearly showing a 6-pack.

Past reviews for the same seller, with terrible rating of just 50%, shows they have a history of not delivering orders. So this is not just an isolated case, but might be a consequence of business model (drop-shipper without own stock?) which escalated in this case due to large number of orders.

  • Email from Amazon now -
The following order(s) placed on 21/11/2022 with DRINKS NETWORK, will be cancelled if the order is not ship-confirmed by 07/12/2022.
