My wife has a 2021 MacBook Air (M1 chip) which has two Thunderbolt 4.0 outputs.
I would like to connect her laptop to my LG 27 inch 1440p monitor but am confused about which adaptor I require.
Is it a USB-C to HDMI adaptor?
Is it a mini diisplay port to HDMI adaptor?
Is it a 1080p or higher resolution output adaptor?
If someone could please point me in the correct direction I would be very thankful.

Barge-in hunter above has the correct answer. I use this with my M1 MacBook Air and 27” Dell, it’s been flawless. Could probably get a cheaper cable online but I liked the idea of being able to return it to the store if for whatever reason, it didn’t work.
It mostly depends on what (display) inputs you have on the LG monitor
If it has a USB-C input (optionally with Power Delivery (PD) to provide power to your laptop) that would be ideal - a single USB-C (data+power) cable would do it - you want one that can be used for high speed data as well as power <- this is what I use with my Macbook and a HP monitor (if your monitor has a USB-C input it may have come with one of these cables)
After that your monitor might have Display Port, Mini Display Port and/or HDMI input(s) - you'd use a USB-C to DP/miniDP/HDMI cable depending on what the monitor has (I've also used a Cable Creation USB-C to HDMI cable with it as well as one of their USB-C to Display Port cables to other monitors and both worked perfectly)
If you already have HDMI cable, adaptors from Kmart works fine…
