I also saw that post. Been wondering how come they have such a good price for NZ and whether we Aus would get the same deal?? I'm about to get the current Watch4 $199 deal but after seeing NZ price… I'm torn between the two now.
I'm guessing they won't drop the price too soon as that will cannibalize sales of the Galaxy Watch4.
JB Hifi will be clearing them out for $199 next week and I guess once that's over they'll drop the prices of the Watch5, possibly to the low $300 price point to match NZ.
Its actually quite rare to see NZ have better deal than Au. Hopefully, we'll get to see good deal on Galaxy watch 5 before next year.
@yummypinacolada: It's started. The Large (44mm) is on sale for $348. Still a little more expensive than New Zealand pricing, but it's not so bad with discounted Amazon Gift cards.
Just to flag, better try these watches on your wrist as these are awkwardly thick and large, and on top of that the bands near the watch don't bend so make it look even larger. So try it physically in store as 44mm for most people even with larger wrists looks too bulky. 40mm can be the right size, but probably with a compromise on battery life.
@usmanhafeez2000 - I agree; I tried the GW5 instore and the watch does not sit on your wrist as well as the iWatch. Its bulky and the band ends don't curve around your wrist properly
I think the bands are intentionally designed like this to make sure you get good, consistant contact between the sensor and your skin without feeling too tight.
Wait 11-12 months and it will be $200-$250 like W4.
Yeah I think that's about the amount worth paying for watch5.
any deals on LTE model ?
Avoid LTE ones, battery life is worst with LTE.
There is an auto-function, so LTE is only turned on when you don't have your phone or a wifi network.
Ohk. Didn't know that. But a lot of reviews mentioned heating and battery drains on LTE.
This is only true if you don't set your LTE mode to auto or have something else misconfigured.
I'm using the Galaxy 5Pro with LTE when I'm out and wifi/bluetooth when I'm home. I get about 2.5-3days out of the battery.
Same price on Bing Lee eBay or $337.45 with 15% discount for Zip users.
However I would just wait for a Black Friday deal — 44mm Galaxy W5's have been going for a very steep discount for Kiwis for $297 NZD via PBtech or $299 NZD from the official Samsung NZ store
We should see similar discounts next month or early next year.
