    Had to look myself and it seems that feeding puppy food to adult dogs makes them grow in the wrong way: fat.

    Puppy food is much more calorie dense to make up for their massive growth spurts. Not great for dogs that have finished growing.

  Look at the feeding guide: for anything 15kg or more (it is for large breed) you are using 500g plus per day. 40kg would be less than 3 months worth…

We buy Orijen puppy food for our 8mth old. We prefer dry food that doesn't have any meal in it, rather real meat.
