Price Rise for Gold Coast Theme Park Passes - Any Tips?

Hey all - Will be heading to Gold Coast in a month and I notice that the village roadshow theme parks have lifted their prices (which is fair enough I guess) and that the 7 day 4 park pass is up from $169 to $199 per ticket. I know there is a 10% discount code via Adrenaline, but just wanted to know if anyone else has good tips for getting tickets even cheaper? (Note: I did a quick google, but nothing jumped out)

  • 7 day theme park pass on NRMA (Movie World, Sea World, Wet N' Wild, Paradise Country) is from $179.10 (3 years and over)

    • Thanks - I'm in WA, so not a NRMA member, but that works out to be a 10% discount - which is the same as via Adrenaline.

Klook App offers $179 less 5% if you use the Promo Code
    "BetterOnApp" https://www.klook.com/en-AU/activity/53469-village-roadshow-…

    • Thanks, but $179 is for the 3 days pass - The 7 day pass is $199. So you can only get a 5% discount off retail using the discount code sadly. :(

  • Sorry to hijack this but we will be going past there in Jan and was wondering if you had to pick from one of the parks which one would you go to with kids?

    • -1

It will depend on the age of the kids as to which park is better

      • 4 - 15 so a bit of a range.

SeaWorld if they like animals, also a few good little kids rides, but most other rides are decommissioned that were any good for adults. Movieworld if they like superheroes, the rides are ok, lots shut fairly often, linea have been insane the last few times I've been, even off peak. Wet and wild is good, but similar in that there are always rides closed, and if you don't get there before it opens, you're going to have a bad time.

        • The 4 will like Seaworld while the 15 will be bored to dead with it and only find fun in movie world or wet n wild. There's only 2 rides worth the fun for 10 year older at Seaworld. Movie World has probably 3 or so rides for small kiddie but they can have fun around the boulevard with stun show and dc heroes. Wet and wild is nice if you like being wet but 4 years old will have few options too.

Movie World or Wet and Wild are the picks but suggest getting to the parks earlier in the day. The others are fairly average.

Last trip we kept checking the Seaworld resort website for specials. Eventually got a package that included access to the Village theme parks. Worked out a lot cheaper factoring in what we would have been paying for accom elsewhere. PArk access started from the time you check in so can check into the resort early, drop bags and go into the park for the day.

    • Thanks - Got accommodation sorted. Just wanting to see if I can save a bit more on the park tickets. It's coming into peak holiday period so I don't like my chances, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. ;)

  • Hi, did you manage to find a deal, I need 5 passes as well for jan end. Even Adrenaline is showing full price. If there is a coupon code, please share the same.

There is a smallIdeas offer which makes 7 days pass to $173. Did you find any better deal?

    • Use code 'SP350S10' - Spend $350, get 10% off. I haven't bought them yet, but this is the best I've come across.

    • Please see my comment below, should be the cheapest way to get them I'd say based on the price rise (Qantas hasn't raised their RRP yet for some reason).

Should be able to get it for $151 from Qantas Store at the moment if you're interested :) Just add to cart and adjust the slider to be 0 points + $151.

Buy 2 to get 5000 Bonus points with $250 spend also if required.

Awesome - Just bought 4! Thanks heaps!

      • Did you get 5000 bonus points? Or is there a coupon code for that? Thinking to split it into 2 transactions to get 10000 points if there is any such offer as well.

        • Not sure yet - but per below, it says it will credit after 30 days. I probably should have split into 2 transactions to get another 5000 bonus points, but oh well. :p

    • Super. Thanks.
Can't find it mentioned anywhere for 5000 pts on 250 spend. Is there a coupon code?

      • +1

It should just be auto applied to your account if you spend >$250 cash in a transaction and credited within 30 days separately, see the Cyber Page here with the banner for the offer.

Bonus points apply when using cash only or the cash component of Points Plus Pay and ends 11:59pm (AEDT) 28 November 2022 unless sold out prior. Minimum spend and exclusions apply - for a full list click here. Bonus points will not be earned on any orders made completely with Qantas Points, or on Offset Your Home and Car, Climate Positive Delivery and Apple products. All Qantas Points earned are awarded per transaction over the promotion period and are not accumulative across separate orders, but can be redeemed multiple times if each order meets the eligibility criteria. Bonus points will be credited to the member’s account up to 30 days from the date the order was placed. Standard 2 points per $1 will be credited to the member’s account up to 30 days from the order dispatch date. Qantas may extend or withdraw this offer at any time. Conditions apply.

    • Thanks just bought 4 from Qantas as well. You're a legend!

  • Hi, I regret not buying single day passes for Sea World when I booked our accommodation in October, the price has gone from $99 to $119 :( We won't be going to more than 1 theme park while there.
I saw on another post a recommendation for Changi Recommends but also that it states "E-tickets are for international visitors only and cannot be purchased in Australia/New Zealand or by Australia/New Zealand passport holders" - wondering if anyone has bought this anyway and used it without issue? Works out at $99. Cheers.

    • Just turn up and speak with an accent, those teenagers at the gate probably couldn't care less, probably they won't bat an eyelid if you dress and sound like Paul Hogan.

  • My family has our yearly trip to the gold coast planned for Feb/march (we do the same every year with a couple of young boys), and we usually buy the 12month passes from the Coles employee portal for about the ~$180.

Thanks to an overlap created by making our holiday a couple of weeks earlier each year we get two trips from them, but the dates are getting too early now and will require a reset.

Seems these have now disappeared so looking for the next best which will probably be the 14 day mega (all village parks) passes.
Anyone have a good line on those?

  • Qantas is having a Boxing Day sale. I just picked up a bunch of three-day Movieworld etc passes for $145 apiece.

    • hi @john71, just wondering how long it took them process through the qantas sales for u? is it instance delivered through email?

      • It took about 12 hours. The PDF passes can be loaded straight into the Movieworld app. Good luck.
