HP Zbook Power G9 v MSI Creator Z16

I'm looking to buy a new workstation for various sorts of tasks and stuck between HP Zbook Power G9 and MSI Creator Z16.

I'm looking to use Adobe suite software such as Photoshop/premier pro/Lightroom, etc. Also, Solidworks/3ds Max/AutoCAD. The usage for SW is not too heavy right now, however, I'd like it to handle the situation well as 1 year down the lane, I'd work on this.

HP ZBook Power G9 seems to have Quadro A2000 8GB graphics card while MSI has RTX 3060 6GB. The difference in the display doesn't bother me! Both are at the same price tag.

Which laptop would be the best bet in such scenario and what would the geeks suggest me?

Thanks in advance

You are after a laptop, not a workstation..

    • Laptops powerful enough to do 3D development are called 'Mobile Workstations', which is exactly what OP said and is asking for.

  • The zbook is more upgradable / customizable .

  • Have you thought about a high spec MacBook? May not be compatible with all the applications you listed though.

  • I would get a ThinkPad P1 G5 for $3649 (and buy an extra 16GB SO-DIMM).

ZBook screen colour gamut would be garbage for photography and video. MSI specs are better, but not sure how trustworthy they are for build quality and support.
