[Price Error, Unobtainable] Logitech Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse $13 @ Officeworks

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Moved to forums - Reason: pricing error. Officeworks has officially clarified that this is a catalogue misprint.

Inspired by bargainsgrabber, I try to spot what he missed out, and find this. I'm not sure if this is Officeworks' Black Friday hightlight, or a typo. I hope it remains untouched on the upcoming hard copy catalogue. Shopfully catalogue entry.

Surely this is a typo/price error

    • or a flop :)

    • +5

As long as Amazon matches it 😂

  • +22

    $120 to $13????

Definitely a steal. I don't need it but definitely will fight to get it.

    • +38

Great deal. I'd get it even if I didn't have hands

  • +3

    Must be a typo😂

  • +1

now $129 - the shopfully page is incorrect

    • +1

We'll see in 7 days time.

    • Still $13 for me

    • +1

The Shopfully page is displaying a catalogue whose prices don't apply until 21 November.

or 89% off to get 11% Singles Day 1111111122

  • +5

There is a "new" icon on OW's page. Highly unlikely to be 90% off.
    must be a typo.

  • +3

No way. but I am in if it is on.

  • +5

Don't need one but would buy at this price.

    • +7

      that’s the ozbargain way.

      • +1

        Barginlorian?

    • +1

Already have one but would buy again at this price.

      • Do you find it more comfortable than a standard mouse for clicking etc? As it, more comfortable on your forearm and fingers.

        • +2

          yes wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more comfy.

well you need time to get used to it but it wont be too long. and you still can comeback to normal mouse no problem.
maybe a bit harder from normal mouse to trackball but again i had normal then went to trackballs and now back to normal (but vertical).

very easy to tell. put your arm into keyboard and type few words, then switch both palm to handshake position ..> straight away you will feel some relief especially on the outer side of the hand and arm up to the elbow

          • @CyberMurning: Thanks. I think I need to bite the bullet and pay up the $. I despise spending money for work but it sounds like it'll be worthwhile for me. Just wish I could find one a little cheaper or at least try before I buy so I'd know it worked for me. Thanks again.

            • +1

@cookie2: well.. there is pawn shops, gumtree and marketplace? just search your local area, make a reasonable offer. worst case you can re-sell at say $10 loss. not big deal.

yeah i am having hard time explaining to some workmates why my mouse+keyboard are over $250 but theirs are $35. wait till you get that wrist pain….

  • Wht a deal?

    • +72

      U looking for me?

  • +6

This comes in left and right handed versions. Maybe it's only left-handed stock :P

    • +34

This could be a selling point for when your busy with the right hand.

    • +2

I will convert to a left hander.

    • +1

      Left-handed models are graphite only!

      • -4

Incorrect, as I quite literally have the graphite version in my palm right now and it is right-handed.

        • +5

          That's not what UsernameChecksIn said…

  • +5

0% chance it will be sold for $13.

    Price error.

    • +1

Yeah D-Pan. Nobody likes a negative Nancy.

    • hi muzueeebbeb

    • -1

Yeah but a error where what price was intended to be typed? $130? That's more than the Logitech's own price of $129.95.

I definitely think it's possible. These plastic mice will cost less than $3 each to make.

If theres anything I have learned from being on ozbargain. It's if you doubt, you miss out.
A few deals which I thought too good to be true/honoured I remember were the Lenovo free $100 to $200 points credit with no minimum spend. They actually honored it lol. Also another one was Amazon's price error's on Airpods and Apple TV's.

      • There's much more to the price of an item than how much a single unit costs to make.

        • Yeah but everything is done in bulk and probably combined shipping in huge containers. How much would that add per plastic mouse? They weigh practically nothing. A few cents I would assume.
Commercial logistics definitely must cost less than what you pay for postage per individual customer.

          • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: R&d, designers, software developers, electrical engineers plus a hundred other things.

            • -3

@wombat81: Dude. Those things are included in how much is costs to make lol. How do you think those cheaper mice are made and still sell for profit?
These are made in a factory next door and the only difference is the brand name slapped on with clever marketing to make you believe they hired expensive designers so it's ergonomic. Not much different in terms of shape to your run of the mill vertical mouse.

"There's much more to the price of an item than how much a single unit costs to make."

I was going to say you are right. Marketing and your old friend jack. Logitech seems to do fancy marketing. And they price jack the product 10x more than they can sell it at without losses. So when it's priced at 1/10th people will say "bargain!" and buy it in droves and Logitech still makes money. Do you seriously think this mouse is worth $130?

The only thing I find questionable in this deal is the source. I have never heard of "Shopfully".

              • @n3ck3ntry8bort0rgasm: You have no idea

                • -1

@wombat81: So by your logic this is a $130 mouse and equal to an MX Master which is an actual good mouse that probably had experts involved in it's design.

You do realize Logitech can also make and sell cheap stuff right? Many companies do this they make and sell cheap stuff next to a few actually good models that's how they make money.

My mouse was made by Microsoft which is also a big brand like Logitech and was $8 how do you explain that?

      • Having sourced many products from China, you're probably not far off the manufactured cost, not including auxillary costs (shipping, r&d, wages etc)

        • Well I just based it on my experience and experiences of others. By the way I think it could be cheaper.
Just recently someone I know purchased something and I could not believe the pricing. They paid 50c per unit for 3x units and shipping was free from china. I could not believe it until they showed me the listing on Etsy and to my surprise I could order just 1 unit if I wanted for the same cost per item with free shipping.

I couldn't get my head around how the item could be so cheap in the first place, but either way I couldn't understand the free shipping part. Either the item must be free and the buyer is just paying shipping, or the item was 50c per unit and the shipping was somehow free for the seller.

The only logic I could use is that all the costs involved were broken down in that 50c per unit. Anyway some others here seem to have never stepped foot in china and think they know exactly how things work over there. But I think the costs are much much less than most people think.
Not sure how other guys logic would work in this case, do they think each 50c sale is split evenly across 100+ areas involved with the product? How does that even make sense?

      • If it's not a price error, it's a massive loss leader and they'll have only 10 in stock.

  • -1

I will crush puppies to get this item at that price. And I don't even need it.

    • +1

Crush them whilst using the mouse in the other hand?

    • Thank you for your sacrifice.

    • -2

People negging this comment when its a joke 🤣🤣🤣🤣

      • -2

I actually find it funnier that I've upset some people with that joke.

        • -2

I know right, those are the same people that say they can take a jpke.

        • How many koalas have been crushed so far </3

      • +1

Lots of people been doing that on ozbargain these days. Lots of snowflakes

        • Unfortunately that's right.

  • +4

I don't need this, but for this price, I'll get it.

      • +9

Price errors get removed so no harm done by upvoting, however spammy overpriced posts by reps don't. It's up to the community to remove them by neg voting.

    • +6

      165 votes of HOPE

    • That's because the sale hasn't started yet to determine whether it will actually be at that price?

  • +1

The markup must be huge if they still making $ selling for $13

  • It should be $113 instead. Definitely price error and we will see apology note soon

    • That's expensive! I got mine for under $100!

    • $16 is considered a sale? Thats just barely 10%

  • Lift vs Vertical?

Do people prefer the modified form factor and replaceable batteries vs built-in rechargeable

    • +3

Having used both, the vertical is too big (particularly under the wrist) and the lift is slightly too small - I'm really hoping for a middle ground of the two one day

The silent clicks, scroll wheel, and shape are very nice on the lift though

  • This is a steal !!! Buy now think later

    • +6

Or buy in 7 days & think before.

      • +1

Oops. You got me there !!!

      • Ozbarigains worse enemy, thinking before buying is going against the tradtions of oz's

  • Probably a typo but you gotta have hope..

  • +4

Such is the generosity of OzB, pointing out price error before its even occured

    • Ah Officeworksers reviewing our threads ;(

  • Sorry guys I've really tried to understand this but, how do I buy this?

The link is to some paper catalogue and when I look it up on the website:

    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/logitech-l…

    It's not $13?

Does this sale apply at a certain date/time? It says it ends on the 29th of November, but nothing about when it starts.

  • +1

Curious why a >$100 mouse still uses an AA battery

    • +10

What’s wrong with AA battery? Replaceable, cheap, functional and accessible in any part of the world.

      • +10

Need to be lithium-battery and self-driving mouse I guess

        • -1

Indeed. The mouse should also double as a self propelled lawn mower when not in use.

        • Mice are smart animals

      • agree will not degenerate over time and less chance of blowing up maybe? (samsung note 7 story)

    • TBH, I would be happy to pay more for the same mouse if it had AA batteries.

    • +1

The MX vertical is the chargeable version.

This is the smaller (also heavier) battery version.

      • +2

Pair it with an eneloop deal, swap and charge when you need to. Better in the long run since you can replace the eneloops easily but you can't replace the built in battery in the MX vertical easily when that eventually goes.

    • I used 3 months but still have 85% battery. Probably takes more than a year to replace new cheap battery.

    • +1

Yeah they should put a mini nuclear reactor in it instead…

    • My MX Revolution mouse uses a single AA battery. So convenient to swap it out with another Eneloop Pro when it needs recharging. Stuff using cables to charge it lol

  • +1

    Wow love to have one

    • +1

but OW will not love you back…

      • They love ma money for sure
