Ugh touche. In the market for a new backpack and really regret not buying a Nike with the last 40% of corporate offer from work. Grrr

Quality been shit. My last backpack rip after 2 weeks.

You realise they've got a lifetime warranty..

      • +1

        Damn really? Never knew thanks!

        • Yeah, you can see it/claim here. Although ofc misuse/user abuse isn't covered.

          • @pennypincher98: No option for Australia?

            • +3

@BurnSomeCashs: There is but seems they've sneakily updated their warranty to only be if you've purchased from them now..

              • +2

@pennypincher98: Regardless it should still be covered under consumer law as it seems to be not fit for purpose and not reasonably durable for a bag that broke in two weeks

                • +1

                  @HairyChickens: Can't edit because you've replied but..
Probably changed around the time the International Store shut down and the warranty went from a very wasteful physically destroy the backpack and send us footage to take photos of the defect. Note that they didn't and still don't repair, they just send you credit for a new one.

                  But yes I agree.

    • Do tell more, what exactly caused the rip?

    • +1

Must be your luck of the draw. Mine has lasted 2 years and I’ve brought it along to outback trips in Adelaide and when I travel interstate. Still lasting strong. Bought when it was on sale from The Iconic

      Don't buy from Paddy's markets I suggest.

  • +2

Excellent Backpack for the price. Paid around $90, 8 years ago and only problem is colour fade and flaking on the synthetic leather handle

    Got one thanks OP

$52 delivered to Qld. Thanks OP

    • Considering the price, i would go with neither of them imo

I don't understand the hype about Herschel backpacks when there are so many better brands available.

    • What other brands are considered good?

      • There's High Sierra l, Samsonite or even some of Dell's backpacks have better back supprt, breathability, rain covers and even RFID protection.

      • If comfort, function and quality are top priorities I recommend and have three Osprey backpacks. I have tried and still own many others packs until I discovered Osprey.
        https://www.osprey.com/au/en/

      • I usually don't go for brands specifically but when it comes to backpacks if it's cordura fabric its usually pre legit.

  • Overpriced for what you get IMHO.

RRP of $150 for synthetic leather! I want real bonded leather for that price

    • lol would be way more that

  • +2

not sure why comments about quality are being negged. bought 2 hershel bags about 5 years ago, 'leather' portions just fall apart after awhile. for that price range, many many better options eg north face, belroy, thule, crumpler. better quality = last longer = better deal

  • Synthetic leather backpack…. Enjoy the back sweat fools.

    • lol, the synthetic leather is on the bottom fool, how's that gonna make you sweat unless you carry it on your head hahah

  • +1

Better off investing the money into Crumpler bag

Have always wanted a Herschel's at last! Thanks OP! I've got abazillion backpacks and Herschel's will at last be one of mine haha could never have justified it before but I can now :)

  • +2

RRP should be $39.99, on sale should be $19.99.

Seriously, Herschel is not even an exclusive brand, the bag has no innovation, and made of run of the mill materials.

  • Ozbargained

  • Got mine, excellent.

  • In stock again, just bought. Thanks OP

    • Oh fabulous, I'll update this.
