Best Small TV to Buy in 2022, 32 Inch Max, Budget ~$350

I'm looking for a small TV for a bedroom, it doesn't need to have any smart features but being able to plug in a USB drive and play movies from that is a must. I've seen some Android TV's that don't accept a lot of media formats from USB drives and I'm not sure how to tell if I'll be able to play my own media or not.

Budget I'd like to spend is max $350, but exceptions can be made if there's compelling reasons. Most of the posts I see here cover the larger screen TV's.

One of the standouts I've found so far is the Hisense 32" A4 Series HD LED VIDAA Smart TV 2022 for $295, is this a decent TV? Will it be much cheaper around Black Friday?

Thanks in advance for any help.

For 32" you may as well just get from Gumtree/Marketplace. Hell even 40" TVs will be going cheap as people upgrade

  • Yeah maybe I should get a bigger one. They'll be playing PlayStation 4/5 on it, what size would you recommend for a kids bedroom. I suppose I could mount it to the wall.

I have a 55 inch in my bedroom and I could easily go bigger.

  • Right, well I'll have to adjust my thinking and consider going larger. The budget however, I don't want to go up too much. At what size does the price/size curve meet at the perfect point?

Even cheap branded 65" TVs can be had for ~$500 new, all depends what features etc you want

If they're using a PS4/5, then just use that as your media player? Install VLC to the playstation

      • I didn't even think of that - because in the past, it's been an old tv and no Playstation. So USB sticks stuck straight into the TV was fine. But some new TV's won't play files and it's frustrating trying to buy a tv that you don't know if it will play media from a USB drive or not.

Dumb UHD LCD that has decent reviews.

    • I didn't think you could get dumb TV's any more. I'd prefer a dumb TV tbh.

Try the cheaper no name brands.
Check Aldi stores to see if they have any stock from sales a month or two ago.

I like my cheap 49' Aldi UHTV dumb TV from 5 years ago as it's got a good panel and I use a sound system as the speakers always suck on any LCD TV's I have ever seen and it's $370ish price is held up very well w.r.t. the cost it would be to replace it.

I have a H96 media player connected to make it smart. I used to have a Vodafone TV, but it stopped being updated at Android 9 and had file system support issues.

Don't expect a cheap TV to play many files for you. Get a media player and a Tv separate.
