[Switch] LIMBO, INSIDE $3 Each @ Nintendo eShop

790

These two highly rated games on Switch are on sale again. Great games to grab at this price, especially if you have some gold points to use.

  • INSIDE: Matches previous low of 90% off
  • LIMBO: Not all time lowest but still 80% off

Note: Both games have been free on Epic in the past so you might have them in your PC library already but I found these enjoyable in handheld mode on the Switch for on-the-go gaming.

Fun games… Easily worth $3 each.

Still on my pile of shame. Sad days.

    • +4

These two games shouldn't be on any pile! They barely take as long as a Tarantino movie to finish and they provide an experience that no movie can match.

  • +6

haha nice I just played through Inside yesterday

fun little game, though 3-4 puzzles had me dive for a walkthrough (no pun intended)

Great games although makes me wonder who would ever buy them at full price nowdays…. if you look at Deku Deals price chart on both of these titles they have a very regular pattern of being on sale and down to a few dollars every month this year so far.

Saying that, if you do live under a rock and haven't played either they are both great games and worth a play through. Also nice and short at say 3-4 hours each so good for completing over 1 or 2 sessions.

Game is on sale roughly half of the year so don't buy it cheap for fomo

Bought both these games on PC ages ago and was worth it back then. For $3 they're a steal.

Though looks like Limbo has been on sale for $1.5 in the past.

I streamed this game on my twitch the other week and it l was massive! This is such a good game!!! For $3 what a bargain!

I played Inside on Xbox game pass the other day from start to finish in one sitting. Great game. The puzzles are challenging without being too difficult and are not too repetitive. The artwork, music, atmosphere, and level of suspense are perfect.

Copy pasta of my review of limbo and inside:

"Going to be neg-ed for this but here is my review:

Limbo and Inside are both short games and can be completed within 4 hours. They both have a unique art style and that's the highlight in the game. Limbo with its black and white and Inside with phenomenal lighting to set the mood.

That's the only praise I can give it. With limbo, the first 1/3 was really great but then sort of lost its focus on atmosphere and just puzzle platformer.

Both games do not have any text to convey its story and purely through its visual which was what drawn me in to these 2 games as well as previous $3 deal. However, they give you very little (extra emphasis on very little) to work off to create your own narrative which to me felt lazy. That said, there are many that do enjoy it, I just didn't.

From a puzzle platformer POV, it's okay. Some trial and error for some but none that made me felt smart for solving.

I think I entered both games with very high expectations from high praises (on ozbargain) and awards. I played both blind and when i reached the end for both games I was like "that's it???"

Overall, I think it's "art-y" and not for me and I cannot recommend this game.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk"

I wished I watched someone played this on YouTube instead of investing my time into it as I didn't like the gameplay

      Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, it's not for everyone. Good on you for being more balanced and detailed in your review than typical gamers ("X is shit, Y is a masterpiece" etc)

    • Damn, I got Limbo for free because it was installed on a PS3 I found at hard garbage.
I played through about 1hr of Limbo hoping it would have an explanation at the end.
Now I don't feel bad about not finishing it lol.

      • First third of limbo was the best, then it loses its atmosphere and direction.

If you want an explanation, there is a reveal at the end. Imo less terrible since there is a lot less world building in limbo that amounts to nothing.

Would recommend watching the ending on YouTube if you are not enjoying yourself

I'm about to play limbo after recently playing Inside. There were a couple of concepts in the game that blew my frigging mind. So simple yet genius! I don't care im calling the masterpiece card and slapping a genius card on top, this is a must play, not for everyone true but def for about 87% of people. $3 is robbery.

  • Is there a way I can buy this as a gift for someone? What details do I need?

    • Unfortunately not. You'd need their Nintendo account details… login email and password.
If you did, you could purchase online, then it would automatically be downloaded to their Switch.

      • That's utter sh**. So we can't even buy gifts? WTH Nintendo.
Ty @Snoop, I learnt something new today.

        • +1

Yeah, to gift, you can really only buy physical games (which sometimes only have a download code in them anyway) or gift cards. But gift cards are obviously useless when you want to get them something specific… and when it's on special. Mind you, these two games are often on special.

If it's for a kid, you may be able to work with their parent/s.
As an idea, before last Xmas, I purchased an online game for my (kid's) account, downloaded it, then deleted it from the system before they could see it. I made a mock gift card for the game to wrap and give. He thought it was (kind of) genuine. Anyway, it detailed to go into the eShop and redownload the game.
Not a perfect process, but it worked on this occasion.
