may be better to wait for 20% CR cashback if anyone planning to buy?

    • Is it a good phone, tho?

        That doesn't matter

  • anyone used this for pokemon go? or should i stick to snapdragons..

Pocos are specced more for gaming in general.

      • Interesting… I don't play games on phones at all; I use them mostly for social media (photos and video included), finances and the odd phone/video call. Should I be looking elsewhere at this price point?

You tell me ! Local warranty/support wins hands down . Have you forgotten black friday coming up

          • @Murkymerv: I haven't. Are discounts better on Black Friday than 11.11 and ClickFrenzy? With so many promotions going on, it's difficult to figure out what's just normal price discrimination, and what are actual discounts.

          • +1

@Murkymerv: Is local wty/supp that relevant? I'm on my 6th year of Xiaomi imports already, and never missed any of it. I don't recall ever having trouble the phones that I couldn't fix myself (besides I always bought $200-300 phones anyway).

      • cool thanks.

will try this out. previously used the xiao mi notes but it's been a few years already.

I too am moving from RNs (on a 7 atm). [This guy(https://youtu.be/5zVDITVmStk) says M5s are just RN10 rebranded.

@wisdomtooth: thanks for this. it's hard to keep up with all these changes if you don't pay attention. one moment it's redmi then next thing they disappear from posts .lol.

Better to wait until after the weekend and get a POCO Mon.

G95 vs G99 , so this actually has inferior SoC over the vanilla M5 ? or is it the case of product naming fkups

Pros = Amoled display + better camera ?

      • +1

From what I've seen, there doesn't seem to be much of a performance difference, and the main distinction is between M5s's brighter (up to 1100nits) and slower (60Hz) SAMOLED screen, and M5's dimmer (500nits) but faster (90Hz) one. There are also differences in terms of cameras, but I haven't delved into those yet.

        • +2

Think for the $20 difference you have to choose the AMOLED

Apparently also has sd slot and ir blaster. Looks like pretty much everything I'd want except a decent camera but the price is right

    • Wait I thought referral links were supposed to go in the referral section?

      • Talking about the coupon codes? Those are coupon codes, not referral codes (check the image).

    • The first code comes up under minimum spend? Are they meant to stack?

      • I assume… That's what the image shows.

      • Yeah, no. The numbers don't add up. Dunno, I just copied the stated price. Not sure how it all works.

    • Yeah, I posted that after watching a few videos on this one (which I too posted).
