Apparently the SE are basically a rebranded QC45 but with a soft case (instead of a hard case).

    • +2

so the case is the only difference between SE and QC45?

      • +3

Couldn't find much on Google about the difference, but from the few post over at the Bose Subreddit, the SE were basically rebranded QC45s for Costco/Sam's Club in the US (shows up as QC45 in the app too).

    • I am a bit disappointed with my QC45. Sounds great after some eq changes, but I feel my QC20i have much better noise cancellation.

      • 'I am a bit disappointed with my QC45. Sounds great after some eq changes, but I feel my QC20i have much better noise cancellation'

        seriously ? in-ear QC20i 'have much better noise cancellation' than over-ear QC45 ?

in my experience and careful comparative side-by-side testing, every in-ear type (including QC20i, SONY and Apple AirPod Pros have been pathetic for noise cancellation compared to my over-ear Bose QC35ii, even my old QC15

so I'm thinking you're either dreaming - or just making it up.

        • Okay we have different opinions then. This sometimes happens. Have you tried the QC45?

  • Appears the only difference between se and 45 is the case…

    • and color options

  • my qc35ii's are still going strong - are any of these a noticeable upgrade?

    • Qc45 is a noticeable downgrade in terms of call quality.

      • Do you mean the mic on the 45’s is worse than on the 35’s!?

        • Yes, much worse. That was the reason I sold it on eBay and got a 700 instead.

          • @happydragon: 'Yes, much worse. That was the reason I sold it on eBay and got a 700 instead'

ow - thanks for the heads-up - survey of one - I read it on the internets so it must be troo ?

anyhoo I'm still happy with our two pair of QC35ii for now - but if and when they die I may go for the 700 then (or whatever is the deal of the future!)

  • +1

Does 700 worth $50 more than SE? I do like the style of 700 better.

    • +1

700 has many more mics use for noise cancelling during call. If you use it for call at noisy place often, it's definitely worth paying more.

      • a problem with my QC35ii is wind noise across the microphone - and if I'm wearing a collar, turning my head, the scraping noise on the base of the earcups can be amplified to quite intrusive

would be nice if the 700 reduces that nastiness

        • I have a Bose 700. I use it outdoor during my son's tennis lesson or training. Based on the feedback from my friends and colleagues they can't really hear the sound of the wind. They can still hear some background noise, but nothing loud or nasty.

Using qc45 since 6 months, no issues so far.
If this is same as 45 as above comments, then this is a steal

    • exactly. Ngl feels ripped off. Paid 100 more for a hard case ffs.

      • May be ur resale value will be higher compared

  • im glad u guys commented this was same as qc45. i was trying to find more information but who better to trust than ozb. quickly grabbed one before it runs out

    • lol i was in the same situation, buy now, worry later.

  • are they both noise cancelling?

    • Yes apparently so.

  • Does anyone know if the Bose A20 aviation headsets ever go on sale? They're not included in this one.

    • +1

Never, I own a pair and it's stayed the same price for a while. (forever)

Its a super high-tech headset and a one of a kind in the market its in, there's no real worthy competition and hence no discounts.

      • +1

Damn, I thought that might be case but hoped it wasn't. Thanks for the response.

Don't know about no worthy competition though, I gather the lightspeed zulu is meant to be on par.

        • +1

There are a few small headset companies starting up with promising offerings, which might appeal to the GA markets. But Bose will have the market dominance in Commerical and GA aviation for the years to come.
I've had mine since they launched back in 2010, and they have been great - albeit an earcup cushion replacement. Great doing some VFR while listening to music (dont tell CASA that)

  • Easy to get a .edu account if you sign up for this and withdraw before census.

  • how is QC45 compare to WH1000xm5 or mx4?

    • dunno but if you mean SONY I found their earcups too shallow for my big ears which hurt them after a short while - that kind of rubbing became intolerably painful after a few hours on an overseas flight

      • Thanks for sharing it.

  • And how can i get a code????

  • Thanks mate! Ordered one

  • -1

For SE/QC45 Check reviews and complaints, particularly about wind noise and ANC settings. A few (or a lot?) think the QC45 (and likely SE) are a step backwards from QC35 II

  • Cheapest for Bose Noise Cancelling 700 is $300, might wait a bit and see

  • Does anyone know if you can change the anc button to use with Alexa devices like you can with the QC35's?

I cant seem to do it with the Bose Music app.

  • Was wondering if anyone has compared the SE to the 45s and whether they are truly the same?

    • I had a Bose customer rep in a chat window on their site who suggested that the SE and 45 were the same, just a different case.

      • Thanks for the feedback cheers

  • Hi. Can I please get a student beans code. Thank you.
