Steam Midweek Madness - L.A. Noire - $3.74 - (DLC & Complete Edition also 75% off)

1420

Steam currently have LA Noire at 75% off for the Midweek Madness Sale which comes only weeks after the recent price drop for LA Noire on the AU Storefront.

The Complete Edition can be picked up for $14.99 (or just under $10 AUD from the UK storefront, $7.49 on US)
& The DLC Bundle - $4.49 ($2.99 on US)

With the Steam Summer Sale only a few days away (possibly starting this weekend) I wouldn't take any risks and wait any longer to buy the game because games that go on sale for over 50% off 1-2 weeks before the big sales don't usually get discounted as much during the big sales.

Sale ends 3AM Friday (AEST) (Possibly 9AM, sometimes they extend it 6 hours)

Would be a crime not to buy at this price.

I see what you did there.

      begin playing 'the who'

  • Not a sandbox game but has the most accurate facial animation ever. Wonder when the new r rated edition comes out to test out the new Aussie classifications.

  • +10

Funny how buying it separately makes it almost half the price. Game + DLC = 8.23. Complete = 15.

Did anyone else not have to enter their details?

    • Yeah what's up with that? It seems like you get all the DLC in the complete version but I can't be 100% sure.

I can't acccess Steam from work…can anyone confirm the Steam DLC bundle contains the following (besides the Rockstar Pass):

        http://lanoire.wikia.com/wiki/Downloadable_content

If so, then it should be identical to the Complete edition:

According to Steam it comes with:

          The Broderick Detective Suit
          The Sharpshooter Detective Suit
The Badge Pursuit Challenge & Button Man Suit
          “The Naked City" Vice Case
"A Slip Of The Tongue" Traffic Case
          "Nicholson Electroplating" Arson Case
          "Reefer Madness" Vice Case
          “The Consul’s Car” Traffic Case

          :)

So Yes it's the same, besides 2 guns.

Thanks for the link. The DLC bundle seems to have everything except the pre-order bonus weapons: the Nickel Plated Pistol and the Chicago Piano Gun. Probably not worth $7.

          Thanks ohhidayo :)

Haven't really been interested in the game so far, but at this price it's a definite purchase.

  • +1

Complete edition in US is $7.50, rather than buying the game and dlc seperately here for $8.23 if anyone has any US friends.

    • Updated deal to reflect that. The Complete Edition was $15 on the US store earlier when I checked before I posted.

  • +3

    And I spent like $40 on the PS3 version without DLCs… #palmface…

    • +4

      You mean #facepalm ? :P

As soon as I saw this price, I got a semi-chub.

    • Isn't a chub already semi-erect. So you had a semi-semi-erection?

      • +1

Shut up and take my money!

  • Running low on budget this month, but couldn't resist… dunno why anybody would buy the complete edition - seeing as it's not like a season pass where you get all future DLC as well.

So true, ozbargain the money saving website has now killed most of my wallet haha I love Ozbargain.

      • But have accumulated more crap than ever!

        • +2

Luckily, when you accumulate crap in Steam, it doesn't take up physical space in your house.

          Digital hoarders.

  • What's the deal with the DLC worth buying or not?

  • just bought it alone, are the DLCs worth it?

    • +1

For sub-$5.00, I really don't think it's an issue if it's incredible or not. It's cheap, and expands on an already brilliant game.

  • how come $3.74, it says $4.99 on the website? To purchase do I need to use australia or USA address. I am new to steams, please help.

  • +1

i'm amused that the Brady Guide (i was just looking, i swear!) actually costs more than the game, before and after discounts

  • This game any good? Sandbox games don't usually hold my attention for long (I still haven't finished GTAIV or Just Cause 2.

  • +1

LA Noire: $3.74 here, $4.99 in US.
DLC Bundle: $4.49 here, $2.99 in US.
LA Noire CE: $14.99 here, $7.49 in US.

Game is cheaper here than US. DLC bundle is cheaper in US than here. CE here makes no sense.

    Conclusion: Valve can't do math.

    • Got to love Valve calcs :)

I have a US account so $7.49 for me :D

Also for anyone who is intrested

"L.A. Noire and Brady Guide Combo - 9.99 USD" US price

    On a side note

"This game requires the install of Rockstar Games Social Club, and an internet connection to activate the game.

Initial game and DLC activation requires an internet connection.
L.A. Noire PC requires the installation of software and components including GameShield
IronWrap & Patcher;DirectX, and Microsoft’s Windows .NET Framework, and
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)."

    • That worries me so I looked it up a bit. According to a Steam forum thread, the DRM is painless, though nobody knows what exactly it does. There may be an activation limit, but again I couldn't find any info about it.

      • Yeah, it may do nothing to the system, however alot of people do have that issue with installing the bloatwear over time…

Didnt effect my purchase choice but just sayin

  • oh great 2 gigs left on my cap. Still got 12 gigs left on the game. :'( 1st world problems

    • +1

Download at mates house, uni, work, school, apple store…

    • +2

3rd world countries have unlimited faster internet than australia

      • Problem with a country so large with such a small population… encourage your friends to have babies!

        • And one of the most lax immigration policies on the planet. We're bringing bodies in here so fast that the infrastructure ought to have been improved by now.

  • How important is it to buy the DLC ($4.49) to play the L.A. Noire - $3.74 ?
Can you buy the DLC separately somehow from the US site ?
Is the game play any good or is it the experience that counts ?

  • Bugger! Bought LA Noire in the Amazon sale a little while back for about $5 I think, can't get the DLC through Steam though :-(

  • Nice! Was just thinking of picking this up :)
    Great game

  • Wow just under AU$4 for a brilliant game released last year? I'm in!

  • +1

ALSO, Aliens Vs Predator for $7.99 (80% OFF) today only!!!

  • Nice, thanks for this! :) Gotta love having a credit card that doesn't charge for international transactions too, even more savings! (even if it is only a few cents, better in my pocket then the banks/paypals) :)

  • If LA Noire is this price, I can't wait to see what comes up in the Steam Summer Sales due to start later this week.

    • Hopefully ARMA: CO - Dayz

  • -4

    Yup

  • +3

I really wanted to not buy this and save the money.

    I bought it. :)

  • according to wiki:

On 28 September 2011, Rockstar Games announced a PC version of L.A. Noire, dubbed The Complete Edition, contained all previously released DLC from the console versions of the game. Enhancements include keyboard remapping and gamepad functionality, increased fidelity, improved graphical enhancements, and stereoscopic 3D support.[67]

  • Bought Game + DLC for A$8.48…can't really grumble about that.

    • +4

it's Ozbargain, of course you can!
