  • im on ign.com like everyday … but some of these games i've never even heard of… guess im not the gamer i thought i was…

    • It's because you are using IGN.

Back to the Future is an awesome buy. Got it with PSN Plus and I can't get enough of it.

I love Telltale Games. New Monkey Island serial was good too

You two forgot to mention why you're negging (I'm assuming it's because of the affiliate links?)

      • iBuzz have no idea why you voted negative from your comment. Guess its in error - so removed for you.

        • No. It's because as the mod edit outlines, he was leading with the affiliate links, which I dislike and I'm sure many others dislike also. Post them all you like, but lead with the non-affiliate link.

Looking at a few other comments here, it looks like affiliate links (leading or not) are not in favour. At least make it a documented rule that they MUST follow a normal, non-misleading link.

Other than that, can the vote be re-applied?

Oh, and if we're removing negs and whatnot, not like I have a care in the world, but how about removing the "errors" a few people made on my original comment? Fair is fair, right?

        • No. It's because as the mod edit outlines, he was leading with the affiliate links, which I dislike and I'm sure many others dislike also. Post them all you like, but lead with the non-affiliate link.

Fair enough, but if you said that originally, the neg vote would have stood. Mods are magicians sometimes, but we can't read everyone's minds every time. And we can't reinstate a vote once it's been removed, the system wont allow it.

I agree about the links, I also spent my time editing the deal ;)

They're Japanese RPGs. Most mainstream gamers wouldn't have heard of them. Not necessarily a bad thing, they're a very niche genre (anime, moe, etc).

It's not your fault. Nobody comes close to IGN and Gamespot for doing professional video reviews of modern games.

Come on Gaaraa no more affiliate links mate

I'm sure you can stop like I did ;)

    • +1

Why do people not like affiliate links? Someone else happens to benefit from a deal you're getting?

      • +2

They're not a problem if they are posted primarily because they are great deals. But most of the time they are not and the only reason they are being posted at all is for someone to make some moolah. It's not a case of "Oh look, I found a great bargain", it's a case of "I might trawl through these titles and see which I can make money off". I'm happy for people to make money if they're great deals but on balance I reckon the quality of deals - especially games - would be better here if the temptation to make some easy money off other OzBargainers was removed.

Hmmmm…. interesting point from one who has never posted a deal…..

    • Why should he? Give him a bit of slack. You have posted 71 playasia deals. I looked at your first and that had an affiliate link. Let's say you stopped 2 or so playasia posts ago with affiliate links that leaves 69. This is the OPs 6th playasia deal, still well behind your count. There isn't a problem with affiliate links if they are stated. Everyone had a problem with your "deals" as you were posting every single playasia weekly deal even when they were not particularly cheap. By doing this, it looks like you were solely doing it in the hope of someone clicking your link.

If the op here starts doing the same, then he will get people offside with him too. He might of honestly thought these were a good price and It doesn't look like (to me at least) that he is spamming playasia deals to get some minuscule credit.

This poster has posted nothing but Playasia links, and is known for spamming Ecogamer with affiliate links despite being against site policy. I don't think it gets closer to spamming than that.

Compare to the nice people who post multiple random affiliate links on Greenmangaming deals - I don't have a problem with aff links in principle.

        • This poster has posted nothing but Playasia links

at least this poster has posted deals…….

        • o 0 (oooooohhh BBBUUURRRNNN!!)

      • -1

        Why should he?

        Because they're not allowed here.

You are then allowed to post affiliation links in the main post body. Make sure you declare your affiliation link.

          From your link….

  • The back and forth between you two over affiliate links is getting considerably tedious

Click on Hide from listing and then click on hide deals from Gaaraa and you'll never see my deals again. Problem solved..

      • I guess you didn't read my comment?

        • -1

i did. we only argue in mine or his posts so if you block them you don't see the arguing..

Funny how someone can complain about reading something on the net, if you don't like it don't read it…

        • gaaraa mate just quit it here. I found its not worth it in the end.

Plus all the other sites you post your links under will still cover you :)

  • Does PA still take coupons? I can't find any place to enter them anymore.
