eBay Buyer 0 Feedback Red Flag?

Put a heap of listings up on eBay due to current no fees offer… it’s been a while…

Listed an iPod Touch 5 gen which has just sold to buyer with 0 feedback. I know there are plenty of scams with tech stuff like this so not sure what to do. I’m sure I had 0 feedback buyers blocked in the past but maybe it’s just reverted in the meantime.

Cash only on Gumtree?

  • Sorry freaking out about nothing! Buyer hasn’t paid, possibly won’t. Just take photograph of serial number right?

Can always lodge item not paid and you just relist the item.

More of an issue if they paid…i mean they could well be a be ebay user…

Look man it’s really not worth it imo. See if you can sell it on scum tree or marketplace instead locally and take steps to avoid scammers there too (cash only etc).

I’ve been burnt before by zero feedback buyers in my younger years.

  • 0 feedback, no way they are paying.

Very common on these types of items. Will be a competitor, pricing you out so they can sell their item.

  • Possible red flag. They can't wait for you to fall for their ruse.
Possible just a newbie making their first eBay purchase. They are currently worried about how you are about to scam them.

Make the sale. Buyer pays. Send the item with tracking. Tracking shows item delivered. Buyer lodges a case with eBay saying all they received was a box with paper packing inside to make up the weight. eBay refunds the buyer at your expense. You are shafted with nowhere to go.
Not saying this will be the case but quite possible - not worth the risk.

    • Or they say it arrived broken and return their own broken one. You show pictures of the serial number to ebay but ebay doesn't care. You lose the money and have a broken ipod.

  • Thanks guys… cancelled the order. Will try my luck on Gumtree with cash only.

  • You can have multiple ebay accounts. A lot of new sellers at the moment due to no fees. I wouldnt of cancelled
