Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra - Owner Feedback?

I'm currently contemplating a Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra as an upgrade for our Q7 Max. I am seeking feedback from anyone who's been using one for a few months - particularly with respect to how well (or otherwise) the auto-empty dock works.

I live in a two level house and the idea is to let the Q7 Max take care of downstairs (mostly polished concrete) and have the S7 MaxV Ultra on duty upstairs (mix of polished floors, rugs, tiles, carpet). The current routine of carting the Q7 Max between floors, switching maps etc is wearing a little thin…and it's already been dropped twice. 🤦‍♂️

For the record - we've had the Q7 Max for about four months now and we think it's a great piece of kit. At around $2160 delivered for the S7 MaxV Ultra it feels like a major gadget investment (hence doing my due diligence) but I am keen to stay in the Roborock ecosystem if possible.

I have had one for a while now, initially without the auto dock but I finally picked up the full auto empty and fill dock a month ago.

You really want to get the Maxv dock as it makes things much easier to look after. I had to empty the dustbin and fill the water every day which got tiring after a few months.

As for how well the dock works then it is very good. I have a lot of floors to mop so I have to keep an eye on the water level in the water tank as it does not hold enough water for a week's cleaning.

The dirty water has lots of fine grit so it is doing a good job.

I like the fact that the mop is washed at the start of the cleaning cycle so that it starts off damp, without the dock the first room to get mopped would always be half cleaned as it takes a while for the mop to get damp across the whole mop pad.

I have just cleaned out the first dust bag after a month so I think I will need 12 bags per year which adds to the cost.

I am yet to try out the official OMO cleaning solution but I want to try that out.

Some reviews that I looked at that pursuaded me to get one:

    • Superb! Thank you VERY much. The dock quite an expensive upgrade on an already "not cheap" gadget, but it sounds like the quality of life improvements are worth it. Thank you for taking the time to write up that feedback. I appreciate it.

  • How do you get it for $2160?

    • An offer I received.

      • Hey Oz
Is this offer available for others? I'm keen to pick up one at that price. Thanks :)

Unfortunately it's not an offer that I can share around.

I had a iRobot S7 Plus and recently switched to the Roborock S7 Plus. It's about $500 cheaper than the iRobot. My tiled floors look immaculate. The way is sucks up the dirt between the tiles is incredible. The floor always feels clean. Never got that with the old one. I would highly recommend the bin. The HEPA filter is great when the vacuum is empty the bin the dust is contained and not spread through the air. The new ones has a bagless bin now

For recommendations watch the YouTube channel Vacuum Wars

    • That's super-encouraging! I'm amazed at how much dust, grit and pet hair the Q7 picks up from our floor. The idea of having it automagically dumped into a bin (rather than having to remember to empty it each time we use it) is pretty appealing to me.

The S7 Max is pretty awesome. But I dunno for the extra cost. Vacuum Wars put it at the top of their 2022 list:

I watched a heap of videos on testing and always refer back to Ozbargain recommendations

Just been having a poke about that Vacuum Wars channel. Some good stuff there. Seems legitimately unbiased, too. WIN!

          • @[Deactivated]: On that latest video he said he's paying for the vacuums himself. No freebies

            • @koplik8: Respect!

Roidmi Eve plus if you want many of the features for a fraction of the price ;)

    • Cost of entry isn't my primary concern if the performance is up to scratch. I'm prepared to forego that $700-ish saving if it reduces household complexity/change (read: higher WAF). Hashtag "2 vacs 1 app" 😆

    • Have you got one of these? I've never heard of this brand

      • +1

I've had one for the last year and it hasn't let me down yet.

    • Would you consider to upgrade to Roidmi EVA Plus (Latest version) which comes with self-washing and auto-emptying the dust bin ?
