Just wondering if anyone else has been charged by Squaretrade for not sending in their device but you also never made a purchase/claimed the voucher credit?
Full story:
I traded in my device online with JB Hi-Fi as I was going to buy a phone which had a trade-in bonus.
In the end, I didn't end up purchasing the phone so I didn't send in my device. However, they charged my credit card a few days ago for not sending in the device. But I thought I didn't need to if I didn't purchase anything / claim the voucher credit?
I guess it may be my fault for going ahead with the trade-in without going ahead with a purchase. Technically they issued me a voucher and it was my fault for not using the voucher?
The trade-in value was only $80 so if this is a lesson I had to learn the hard way then I guess it is what it its.
Update: I emailed them and they just replied to me. No dramas! They've said this:
Hello xxxx,
Thank you for bringing us to this concern.
We have refunded you $80 and you should be receiving it after a few days.

Hopefully this forum thread can help anyone else who may be in the same situation. They charged me over 2 months after I started the trade-in process.
