Definitely what I want to do at 7am, look at someone holding a GPU that I can't buy yet, with US pricing (and AU pricing to come a week later) and no useful benchmarks until real world testing is done.

    • Attending this event seems like a form of torture.

    • You estimate AU pricing and performance from information provided. But yeah, I’ll just read a summary after rather than watch the livestream

Radeon RX 7900 XTX will cost US$999 while RX 7900XT will retail at US$899

Those should thus be about AU$1746 for the XTX and AU$1571 for the XT.

    NVidia are in trouble.

I don't think they'll be too worried, they got in a month worth of price gouging and will just drop the price if the 7900 series winds up faster than a 4080.

They're still pushing hard on DLSS being the greatest thing since sliced bread. So expect to see comparisons that the 4080 can do a zillion more frames in 4K with raytracing turned on than the 7900TX, thus is worth the extra $300AU.

      • Hopefully, FSR 3.0 will close the gap in the few areas DLSS beats FSR 2.0. Does look like it will still be lagging behind in raytracing though.

      • Their problem is they can't cut the price of the 4080 too much, they just don't have the pricing scope of AMD.

This sits between a 4080 and 4090 for a way cheaper price - which means they are likely to take the bulk of the mainstream. I was told when I predicted a US$999 price that there was no way they were going to be that cheap. Now NVidia need to reduce their 4080 price to $999, and I'm not sure they can do it.

And I have the feeling that AMD can overclock this same card with 3 connectors and get close to a 4090 without sweating too much. About all NVidia can point to is ray tracing.

    7900 XTX - 384bit 24GB, 355W, US$999 = AU$1899 street
    7900 XT - 320bit 20GB, 300W, US$899 = AU$1699 street

2x standard 8pin power connectors, 2.5 slots, focus on power efficiency

Will go well anywhere with issues with power prices (Europe) and a preference for smaller mATX/ITX builds (Asia)

RTX will continue to dominate the US market
